We tend to think of EVs as just transportation. Increasingly, they're distributed energy assets. Every battery on wheels can provide backup power, run equipment or help communities during disasters. As millions more EVs hit the road, that resilience scales automatically. #Bettrification #EVs #V2L

It’s because we’d pay for it even if we didn’t use it due to fixed costs. So we almost need to use some of it. This is broken and needs fixing.

The problem is gas has fixed costs. So using less of it costs us more. So it makes sense to use a certain amount of it. We need to fix this so we can shrink the orange/red part.

It won’t end well for the US. The world has moved on. The UK has already passed the tipping point of EV adoption with more new pure electric sales than petrol. Hybrid sales are also now dropping.

Electrification isn't just an energy transition. It's a transfer of power > fuel exporters to technology manufacturers. A pathway to greater energy autonomy, sovereignty & independence. Like World Cup, it doesn't inherently favour the richest nations. Cost curves falling so fast everyone can play.

When it flips it’ll be fast. I the UK new BEVs now outsell petrol (new automotive) and we’ve seen the peak of hybrid sales - signalling we’ve passed the half way point of new car transitions. Some countries are ahead and some way behind (like the US and Japan).

Hydrogen cars died. Hydrogen was too expensive to make, the pumps were a logistical nightmare and the over efficiency was terrible. No hydrogen car could do 700km, more like 550. EVs have already gone past that range. And charge at home.

The AI bubble won't pop as in AI going away. There will only be corporate casualties but AI will not stop. It is far better than good people use and understand AI to ensure it's used in good ethical ways.

AI is not going away. When the bubble bursts, it'll just be some AI companies that get reorganised. The growth of AI will continue at pace. So It's important that good, moral people use and understand AI. And the data centres grow their own power, share their heat and circulate water. #AI

Data centres are not going away, BUT we should work to ensure they provide their own power, AND the water they use in a circular system, AND the heat they produce is used elsewhere.

Have you heard of Jevon’s paradox? Artists are safe. Designers are too if they treat is as yet another bit of tech they can use if appropriate. Any ‘AI first’ company will quickly learn why it needs to be human first and human last.

AI is not going away. The companies who create it will change but unless the good guys understand and use it then AI will only amplify the bad.

It is a tool. I regard blanket dismissal of AI as short sighted. How the tool is used should be the focus. My philosophy is and creation that uses AI needs to be human first and human last. AI is a thing. It’s not good or bad. That’s down to us.

Pakistan may be accidentally building one of the world’s first decentralised #solar economies. The craziest part? Real scale barely shows in official stats. Imported 51.5 GW solar panels by late 2025—nearly = entire grid. Yet registered net-metered rooftop solar just 5.3–6.8 GW. #Bettrification
