You should only provide government issued ID when it's for something critical, such as: * Getting a passport * Obtaining a citizenship card * Acquiring a driving license * Opening bank accounts Any other request for your ID by any app will likely lead to it being leaked or sold.

The risk here at Bsky is that the whole thing is owned by one company, which could turn fascist like Xitter and Meta. The Fediverse is a collective of collectives, so fascist intruders can be defederated and shut out. It has some really good communities and I like it there.
