Every Sunday, I take photos of the food my wife has made us for the week (yes, I'm extremely fortunate). I don't usually get around to posting them, though. Here's this week's contingent. Silken tofu with spicy soy dressing Bok Choy with scallions Dan Dan […] [Original post on sfba.social]

Been thinking more about El-Sayed and “Tommy”. Never forget that much of this country was founded by Christian religious zealots, people who put freedom of religion into their state constitutions and then the U.S. federal constitution not because they so much wanted people whose Christian sects […]

I remember when I worked in Sausalito, I'd often see a mix of boats anchored out in Richardson Bay, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge off Sausalito. I guess I was charmed by the independence and self-sufficient nature of it all. I think it's sad and a bit wrong that this guy (and his friends […]

Went #bowling again. Making progress. 🎳 In bowling as in life, “strikes and gutters, ups and downs.” #BigLebowski

A screenshot of the computerized score tracker at a bowling alley, showing the scores from three games. 98, 129 and 142.

@reillypascal @pine64 thanks for this advice. Might get me over the hump! Those Pine64 people are building some interesting things.🙂

@reillypascal and you do build, don't you? I sadly have no experience with soldering. That's not the hurdle, though. It's the mental hill I have to get over and the sign on it which reads 'turn around now and go back to your comfort zone'. Ugh. I hope you get around to playing with a daisy seed […]

My younger kid has realized that school is at least in part, a prison where kids are kept so parents can be farmed by capitalists, and that the grading, testing, major, and degree system serves to normalize and perpetuate hierarchies of importance among people. Also that many people have no […]

@tomf yeah, it seemed like one plane flew over four times, versus what, six planes for an hour and a half? Karl for the win. Of course, tomorrow and Sunday may be a different story. I like aircraft, too. I always stop what I’m doing (other than crossing the street) when one flies over. Don’t […]
