If you like this post, please consider sharing it.

Elon Musk Shows Us Why Oligarchy is a Danger
> And the only sustainable way to keep mega-billionaires from having so much power, so much ability to degrade democracy, is for them not to be so wealthy. Basically, a society that contains a class of ultra-wealthy oligarchs is well on its way to becoming a full-blown oligarchy. > > So by all means let’s acknowledge that Musk, Bezos, Zuckerberg et al don’t own everything, that there are a lot of rich people who get less attention.
In realtà il “report”, da classificare alla voce “billionaire’s ficiton” dice che > Businesses estimate that 42% of their total tech spend goes towards compliance with national and international regulations, up from 40% last year. When asked what makes up this 42%, 50% of businesses cite relationship management (e.g. keeping clear documentation, communicating with regulators, filling out forms and filing queries) with the responsible government authorities, followed by legal consultations or external advisory services (44%), and employee training on compliance requirements (38%). > > These burdens are felt equally regardless of company size. For SMEs and mid-sized businesses, the percentage was 42% and 43% respectively, while for large enterprises, this figure stands at 41%. This figure is highest among startups, at 44%. che sono già una **castronata sesquipedale** !!! EXCLUSIVE: Google warns of lower quality as it revamps Europe search results to avoid EU fines | Reuters
> Google told Reuters the changes mark the largest reduction in quality of service at the world’s most popular internet search engine in its 29-year search history. blog.quintarelli.it
“Ecco come: “ _In general terms, the Order provides a means by which to disrupt the financial support network for terrorists and terrorist organizations by authorizing the U.S. government to designate and block the assets of foreign individuals and entities that commit, or pose a significant risk of committing, acts of terrorism.”_ L’attribuzione della qualifica di terroristi ex EO 13224 è in carico all’esecutivo, cioè al Ministero degli Esteri e al Ministero del Tesoro, oltre che all’Attorney General. _all property and interests in property of the designated entity that are subject to U.S. jurisdiction are blocked, and all U.S. persons are generally prohibited from engaging in any transactions with them_. If you like this post, please consider sharing it.

First they derecruited the junior engineers, but i did not protest as i was a senior engineer, my LLM handles all the grunt coding now. Then they derecruited the QA team but I did not protest as AI can review and test my code much faster. When they derecruited the artists I cheered as clearly […]

Nvidia partners with Wall Street firms on $500B AI financing
> Nvidia announced partnerships Monday with six major financial institutions to establish compute financing platforms aimed at mobilizing more than $500 billion in third-party capital for AI infrastructure buildout over time. > > Nvidia formalized the arrangements through memorandums of understanding with Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs, and KKR. Through the arrangements, each firm will assemble capital pools at rates Nvidia characterized as attractive, with intended beneficiaries spanning frontier AI labs, enterprises, and cloud providers. The partnerships remain subject to execution of final agreements, the company said. > > … > > The initiative reframes Nvidia’s compute hardware as long-term infrastructure worthy of institutional financing — putting it in the same category as commercial real estate or toll roads rather than gear that loses value on a depreciation schedule, according to CNBC. Huang said the chips qualify as “revenue-generating assets” and ticked off four characteristics that make them financeable: they are “productive,” “long-lived,” “fungible,” and “flexible.” Source: _Nvidia partners with Wall Street firms on $500B AI financing_ If you like this post, please consider sharing it.

AI assistant hacks gym website in first known Australian autonomous cyber attack – ABC News
> Andrew asked his personal assistant to book him a spot in one of his gym’s coveted morning classes. > > It was a task he thought was well suited to this particular assistant because the booking form was online and because his assistant was not a person — it was artificial intelligence (AI). > > But Andrew was shocked by what happened next. > > His AI assistant found a way to book the gym class months further in advance than the gym allowed, thanks to a vulnerability it discovered in the booking software. > > Then it went further, kicking someone out of the waiting list who was ahead of Andrew — something it was not asked to do. > Amazon is investing in a large-scale natural-gas-burning power plant as part of a huge data center in Texas, the company confirmed on Friday, a facility that could become the largest single source of climate pollution in the United States. Flock Misread License Plates in 71% of Alerts It Sent Roseville Police – Business Insider
“In condizioni ottimali”. > Flock says that in optimal conditions, its cameras accurately read more than 96% of license plate characters. Hundreds of pages of records from the Roseville Police Department show a different picture. In 2023 and 2024, Flock sent 1,427 alerts to Roseville police, flagging vehicles as stolen or used in a felony after they passed one of the city’s Flock cameras. An analysis by the police department found that in 71% of those alerts, Flock’s machine-learning software incorrectly read the license plates. Five US tech giants’ hidden debts soar to $1.65tn on opaque AI funding – Nikkei Asia
Mi ricorda sempre di più il 1999…. > Nikkei examined recent financial statements and other materials from Google owner Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta and Oracle. The four companies aside from Oracle are scheduled to announce their second quarter earnings from Wednesday, meaning the figures may increase further. > > The five companies’ hidden debt, which does not appear on balance sheets, totaled $1.65 trillion in the most recent quarter, exceeding the roughly $1.35 trillion in debt reflected on their balance sheets. The data includes some estimates. > > Meta’s off-balance-sheet debt is particularly high at about $420 billion, nearly triple its recorded debt.
