I'm glad we extended Halloween to a full month because I will be moving to a new apartment on the 30/31 which is a worse horror than anything else I could be doing durinh that holiday.

Everyone has a different idea of what immersion in games really is but to me I think the most important aspect of immersion is if there's any interaction/events that happen outside of the player's control like hostile enemies, NPCs actively reaching out to the player or doing their own stuff etc.

The first thing to establish is simple: did Geller go to UNC? By his own admission from an interview in 2019, yes he did.

To me "newlywed" looks like a word with multiple typos in it. English is such a weird language.

The back sprite makes it look like Nidoran is trying to fit a whole watermelon into his mouth. I don't think I've ever seen this sprite before, at least I don't remember it.

A zoomed in photograph that shows a male Nidoran's back sprite mid battle. The angle makes it look like its front leg is part of his mouth thus appearing as if his mouth is comically wide agape.

I feel like steam sales were like black fridays to the gaming community, and in contrast, I personally never cared when one or two games on my wishlist go randomly on sale now and then.

some people so remakebrained, you talk about wanting to play a game and they assume you mean remake or try to guide you into playing a remake, or if you already played something they also think it was remake 🥴

Valve has added chicken raising to 'Counter-Strike 2' in its latest update. You can earn an egg in your weekly drop. After a week a baby hatches. If you feed and look after your baby chicken it can grow up to an adult chicken (which can has different skins). www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/va...

My SSD broke, I,am currently trying to extract as much stuff as possible. Meanwhile, felt like doing some comfort spriting on my beloved old pc from 2012. God bless #pixelart (and @aseprite.org) as a low-fi, working class friendly medium! Classic Sugimori artwork sprites, 5 colors, 56x56px

Bulbasaur sprite, in pixel art. The specifics are: 56x56 pixels, 5 colors + transparency. The sprite follows the well known Sugimori artwork, with the pokemon slightly seen from above as he walks towards the viewer. The sprite palette and shading follow Sugimori's technique, with stark contrasts and a watercolor-like, soft kind of coloring.

Charmander sprite, in pixel art. The specifics are: 56x56 pixels, 5 colors + transparency. The sprite follows the well known Sugimori artwork, with the pokemon shaking his tail with the characteristic flame on top. The fire lizard pokemon is kind of smiling! The sprite palette and shading follow Sugimori's technique, with stark contrasts and a watercolor-like, soft kind of coloring.

Squirtle sprite, in pixel art. The specifics are: 56x56 pixels, 5 colors + transparency. The sprite follows the well known Sugimori artwork, with the pokemon sitting on the ground, holding his tail with its hand. The sprite palette and shading follow Sugimori's technique, with stark contrasts and a watercolor-like, soft kind of coloring.

Pikachu sprite, in pixel art. The specifics are: 56x56 pixels, 5 colors + transparency. The sprite follows the well known Sugimori artwork, with the pokemon charging up its electrical power. Its cheeks are emitting sparkles. The sprite palette and shading follow Sugimori's technique, with stark contrasts and a watercolor-like, soft kind of coloring.

It's apparently time for this list again. Was pretty difficult to boil it down to just 9 entries but these are more or less the games that had a significant formative impact on me (for better or for worse)

Super Mario 64 DS. Super Metroid. Metal Gear Solid 2. Super Mario Land. Rayman 3. Mega Man 2. Drakengard 3. Osu. Persona 3.

Fire Emblem primarily has the same main appeal as such games as the sims. The RPG/strategy mechanics are just a shallow pretence so that boys don't feel emasculated while playing family with their anime waifus.
