If you see this, post a vampire that isn't Dracula.
Gloria Holden in the surprisingly good Dracula’s Daughter (1936). A pale-faced woman wearing a black hood stands by a tree trunk, looking gloomy or possibly bored. I can’t say which, I think I last saw the film when I was about 17 and into classic horror.

... how fragile is human knowledge: there's no documentation anwhere to one of the chips in the iPod, 'Mikey' (it decodes the iPod earphone remote), bar a 16year old blog post. The blog no longer exists, just a wiki mirror of it.

I can't help thinking that EU relations is just one of many issues where Labour is stuck without good choices but reluctant to make a case for bold actions. Perhaps the next days will say different, but I suspect caution will win out.

I’m 58. I expect to live at least into my eighties. Sadly I do not think we will rejoin the EU in my lifetime. It’s worth also wondering what the EU will look like at the end of that time. Particularly if Le Pen and the AfD win power.

How I feel right now about the British/ 🇬🇧English( whatever) political landscape is that some one wrapped in a Union Jack could whack me over the head with a flag pole & the BBC would shove a microphone in my face asking why I provoked the attacker & the Home Sec would invite the attacker for tea .

FINALLY. Still not the top story, but it’s there and with more or less the correct focus. (Bad: still being referred to as an ‘activist’. No mention of the risk to human life. Good: indicating police are involved. Actual photo of the incident.)
BBC News website headline: “Police examine video of anti-migrant activist slashing dinghy with knife.”

Above is a photo of a bearded man in sunglasses who appears to be slashing a dinghy with a knife. That’s because he IS slashing a dinghy with a knife.

I know jazz isn't for everyone but bringing even a tiny bit of music theory to it shows how ahead of their time these guys were and no one more than Coltrane. As OP points out, the fact he practically reinvented a whole system & never shared it, even with his sidemen, made him a musical polyglot.

BBC News website headline: “War may be coming. Are we psychologically ready?”

Above the headline is a still image of a person wearing headphones, and another still image of a person wearing combat outfit and military beret. Both are seen from behind, head and shoulders only.

A graphic at the top reads “BBC INDEPTH.” ‘Indepth’ isn’t even a word, for God’s sake.
