On Germany: something I can’t stand is the idea that the Left and the Green parties haven’t offed arguments about the cost of living. They have! It’s just that they haven’t offered *hate*. The AfD have offered hate, that is their most passionate offering, that is primarily why they are thriving.

Terrible developments in Uganda.
buzzroomkenya Detained Ugandan opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye collapsed in court while protesting a ruling requiring him to accept representation by state-appointed lawyers.
Court proceedings were briefly halted after Besigye, 69, collapsed in the dock. Reports say his personal physician had been denied access to him before the hearing.
Besigye has been in detention since November 2024 after he was forcefully arrested in Nairobi and driven back to Uganda.
He is facing treason charges over allegations that he conspired to overthrow the Ugandan government, accusations he has continuously denied.
The veteran opposition politician, who has challenged President Yoweri Museven in four presidential elections, has repeatedly complained about his detention conditions. His family and supporters have also raised concerns over his deteriorating health and called for him to receive independent medical care.
The court has adjourned the proceedings following the incident as authorities monitor his condition.
