Classical.
iPhone lock screen wallpaper: an angled macro closeup of a Yamaha C40 classical guitar headstock. It’s lit from beneath, the white tuning pegs casthng shadows up the long slots. A clear nylon string stands out against the dark wood. A brass tuning gear is brightly lit and reflected in the textured and polished steel mounting plate on the near side of the head.

You post this calendar-quality picture and label it simply as a “woodpecker”? You, whose own post years ago taught me how to identify a Northern Flicker? (A female at that, in your gorgeous autumn photo, sans moustachio.) Janet, are you okay?! (Your ID guide is one of my favorite things ever.)
Annotated photograph of a Northern Flicker:
— “Ant cruncher” beak
— nape patch “Red spot because it’s so extra”
— black “Moustachio” face markings (on a male)
— black “Bib makes the outfit pop”
— belly feather pattern “Polka dots are fun”
— wing feather “Stripes too?! Sure, OK”
— “Yellow shaft”
— and curved pointy claws “Because dinosaur"

I can personally vouch for the Medline Premium Empower. We got one in early 2020 for a trip to WDW (huge amounts of walking, much need for stopping and sitting) and love it. Very comfortable seat and soft back, nice grips, easy to stash in a Prius — perfect for travel, and we’ve been using it since.

Continuing to see signs of a healthy mycelium in my yard. This little friend popped up today.
A small, slender white mushroom with a hemispherical cap, looking giant from a ground-level perspective, surrounded by leaf litter and backed by sunlight filtering through a cherry tree canopy and Virginia sweetspire.

A third of my comics collection is Matt Howarth. I collected Post Bros., Savage Henry, and Keif Llama, plus specials like WRAB. My reader letter included thanks for the “Love That ‘Bob’” comic that Matt wrote for The Stark Fist of Removal, and he reprinted it as the extra story in Post Bros. #11.
A few panels of Matt Howarth’s “Love That ‘Bob’”:

Ron Post, sitting in a living room armchair, is asked “Can I be of assistance?” and replies “Prob’ly…wait…I have a letter of introduction…”

He holds up a card: “BOB SENT ME”

“Bob,” pipe ever in mouth, examines the card with surprise: “I did?” Ron answers, “We have to talk — in private.”

POV: fretless.
A low-angle and shallow-focus close-up of an Ibanez SRH500F fretless bass, looking from the seventh fretline marker down to the warm-colored body of the guitar. Only the area of the ninth to eleventh fretlines is fully in focus. The woodgrain of the panga panga fingerboard looks almost paintbrushed, a tight striation of two sharply distinct shades of brown. The four matte black tapewound strings converge from lower left toward a vanishing point near the top right corner of the photo. The white pearloid marker dots are offset inline between the E and A strings.

Guitar views.
Close-up of the neck joint of an Ibanez SRH500F fretless bass. The top is golden-stained spruce, the fingerboard is dark striated panga panga, and the neck wood, visible in a curved carve-out, is reddish-orange jatoba with subtle stripes of brown walnut. The strings are Pyramid black tapewounds. The fret lines are thin dark stripes, and a single pearloid offset marker dot is in the 24th-fret space.Extreme close-up of the volume knob on a Yamaha Pacifica 012 electric guitar. Behind the knob are a white pearloid pick guard, a chrome vintage-style bridge, and a white humbucker. The guitar body is metallic red, but it looks close to black in this lighting.Tight close-up of the very end of a Yamaha Pacifica 012 electric guitar headstock. On and around the light maple wood are a black three-tuning-forks-in-a-circle Yamaha logo, the high E string tuning peg and key (and string), and the key for the B string tuner.

I just found this photo of a remote for a stair-lift chair. I’m genuinely impressed: If someone handed this to me without explanation, I would have no idea what any of the buttons do or what kind of device they control.
Catalog photo of the remote control for a Flow X stair lift. It’s a long rounded off-white rectangle, looking a bit too large for the hand that’s holding it. Near the top is a rounded rectangular button divided into top and bottom halves: the top has a simplified silhouette of a person’s head and torso, with a dashed arrow pointing inward to the middle of the body; the bottom is an uppercase letter P. Below that large button and still above the midline of the remote is a rounded square button with no markings at all. The bottom half of the remote is an empty flat surface.

Quote with a ship that makes you happy: The Ship of the Imagination.
The Ship of the Imagination from Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. It’s a thin-edged oblong lozenge with a seamless chrome mirror finish and a spherical module embedded near one end. As pictured, it’s hovering in a vertical orientation just off some seaside cliffs with its lower tip touching the water, and it appears to be about 200 feet tall. As a ship of the imagination, it can change in size and is not restricted by the laws of physics, able to travel freely within and across space and time. It is a vessel of scientific communication and speculation.

@weirdguita.rs My only acoustic is a Yamaha FD01S, a beautiful-sounding huge boxy Martin-style dreadnought. I was in Guitar Center today and saw this. Fender California Standard Monterey CE. It is weird. It is terribly comfortable. It is on sale for $80 less than the price tag. Please send help.

If ChatGPT is your lifestyle brand, you’ll love the Codex Micro! It’s an officially licensed accessory. But you’re paying for the logo, not exclusive functionality. Chris mentions the Elgato Stream Deck, which costs far less and is far more capable. This or a Stream Deck + would be far more useful.
