FB has maliciously banned 1000's of people because they "contravened Community Standards". They helped FB make BILLIONS in advertising, based on user numbers. Users are banned for using FREE SPEECH fighting for their political rights + much more. If banned, would you join a Class Action against FB?

Ed Sheeran gave another speech yesterday which teaches us all that one should stop digging when one simply doesn’t get it. This guy had the agency and means to do something inspirational. Yet he chose to bow to corporate power. Fair enough, bow as you wish, but don’t expect us to feel sorry for you!

Right-wing press and ideologues will have you believe that the UK is the most heavily taxed place. They promise the impossible, European/Scandinavian levels of social security with American levels of taxation. This graph puts things in perspective.

And most importantly, we need to stop the misanthropic psychopaths running these companies from developing these capabilities without any oversight, regulation, and controls. They're a danger to us all. They're accelerating climate change while introducing new existential risks.

Because it's actually more terrifying that this tech does work and it's capabilities are increasing at such rates that we may no longer be able to control it. We need to place controls on developing AI like we do nuclear weapons. We need to stop the data center buildouts.

Unfortunately, that's just not true. We have to acknowledge that this tech will not simply go away because it's somehow revealed to be a hype scam that doesn't work. Then, we can focus on opposing this tech for the actual danger it poses to everyone. From cybercrime to mass surveillance and warfare

2 years ago, these models could barely code. Now, they can refactor entire code bases and automate most of it. And it's still getting better at it. So in the face of ever increasing capabilities, some of those opposed to AI have clung to the same narrative. It doesn't work and it's a hype scam.

I’ve reached the point - well actually, I reached it a while ago - where I’m militantly anti-AI. Fine - use it in bioscience labs and radiology where it might help analyse data more effectively. Use it sparingly for systems engineering. Everywhere else, it can fuck off.

COAL CONSUMPTION AFFECT.
ING CLIMATE.
The furnaces of the world are now
burning about
2,000,000,000 tons of
coal a ycar.
When this is burned,
uniting with oxygen, it adds about 7,000,000,000 tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere yearly. This tends to make the air a more effective blanket for the carth and to raise its temperature. The effect may be considerable in a few centuries.
