Medicine is unforgiving but, for women, the sacrifice runs deeper. Balancing career & life, proving ourselves, & accepting exhaustion as normal. Talking isn’t enough. We need real change & support. Because what’s the point of saving lives if we’re simply losing our own in the process? #Medsky

As far as I know, there are no examples of modern nations turning their backs on medical science. But there’s every reason to expect the consequences to be ghastly. When - not if - the next pandemic strikes, we can expect the federal response to be even worse than it was when Trump confronted Covid.

People have asked for a script for calling Congress to express concern about websites being removed from the Office of Research for Women’s Health, so I wrote one. Feel free to modify as needed. I also added a section about the CDC. The most updated version is on my Substack. +
"Hi, my name is < name>, and I am a constituent of <MoC name> calling from < where you live> to express my concern about the government's removal of critical information from the website of the Office of Research on Women's Health. Women's health has historically been severely understudied, and the government should be providing more, rather than fewer, resources to support women's health research. I am extremely concerned about the impact of President Trump's various executive orders on women's health in this country. I ask that you advocate for not only restoring the website of the Office of Research on Women's Health but also the allocation of $16 billion in additional resources to the office, as recommended by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering of Medicine. If you are not aware of that report, l'd be happy to send it to you. I expect you will treat this with the urgency it deserves.
(optional additional part re: CDC):
I am also very concerned about the changes being made to the CDC's website and the overall freeze on communication from federal health agencies including the CDC, the NIH, and the FDA. With a current large tuberculosis outbreak in Kansas and the ongoing spread of bird flu, this is a critical time for these agencies to be able to communicate clearly and quickly with the public. I ask that you advocate for restoring all the pages, including guidelines, datasets, and pages related to LGBTQ health, of the CDC that were taken offline last week and for resuming open communication with researchers, physicians, and the general public. This is of the utmost importance for public health.
(end optional part)
Thank you for your time and attention to this/these critical matters."
