iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I can well imagine! It’s a directorial and narrative approach that probably feels too artificial at first but then… Well, that’s the magic of cinema when created by geniuses like Varda ❤️😎

A fine film and one of my favourite Varda efforts! A great choice for a communal viewing experience with your students.

The end of my first teaching day of the year, and as usual I'm finishing by watching Vagabond with my final-year students. Have screened it annually (barring Covid) for the last eight, ten (?) years - so damn good. And so fortunate to be in a job where I can just share these amazing things.

A still from Agnes Varda's Vagabond, with Sandrine Bonnaire as Mona.

Very much so. I am a sucker for ‘slow cinema’.

INSIDE THE YELLOW COCOON SHELL (Phạm Thiên Ân, 2023). I found this Vietnamese film quietly mesmerising. Very little seems to happen here - a woman dies in a motorcycle crash, and her brother-in-law goes on a sort of pilgrimage with his young nephew, who is too young to understand that >> #FilmSky

I watched Three Cases of Murder (1954), a British horror omnibus I’d never heard of. (It’s on the Criterion Channel). All three segments are good, with Orson Welles in the last one and you can tell from its style that he directed a lot of it. It’s no Dead of Night but it’s worth seeing

Aye, grand. Just took a little toddle around our cul-de-sac. The wonders that I have seen! New graffiti at the garages! In truth, I have spent most of the day snoring… 🤣😬

🤣Fair play. I am sure that our arcane bureaucracy demands it sadly. Hope it’s all sorted without a hitch

Great night at original Limelight last night to catch Buffalo Tom on the first night of their tour, it’s like it was 1994 all over again😎🎶✌️ FYI, if you’re heading to see them on this tour keep an eye on stage times, last night’s early start (8pm) seem to catch a lot of people out.👍

That’s the reason I’m here. My kids watch nothing else with us these days… 😭

You are lucky. Why can’t everyone love trashy horror like your kids? Mine are too bloody wimpy!!!

Chris @staggerlee42.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

The rest of the family love it so who am I to quibble? 🤣

Chris @staggerlee42.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Me too. It gets a bit repetitive and so contrived but still, my teens are laughing and I am home so, I can endure it (I think)… 😉😬🤣

It’s a rare programme that the kids and MrsL want to watch together so… That part is nice. The show though… 🤷‍♂️🤣😬

Monica Coglan was cross-examined for 13 hours by Archer’s lawyers in the libel trial. She was frequently in tears as her entire life and character was attacked. She died in a car crash before Archer was found guilty of perjury in that trial. Before it was found she’d told the truth all along.
