Currently 300 pages into ‘Cultural Amnesia’ by Clive James. He was clearly an intelligent writer but one who always seems to desperately need to demonstrate that fact. The opinions within can be maddening!! #BookSky💙📚

160 odd pages in and… There’s a LOT of white dudes in this book. To be expected, given the author (maybe), but for somebody with pretensions to voracious cultural appetites, it is still disappointing and very much undercuts his worth as a 20th Century commentator.

Just read CJ’s take on Walter Benjamin. Maybe this will be dispelled later on, but he seems to revel in slagging the Left and Academia (even when he is ostensibly criticising the Far Right too). It’s raising my blood pressure because it feels like a vague hatchet job… #BookSky💙📚

I don’t know if anybody cares but I always believe in giving fair dos to stuff that is ace, in the hope that it keeps getting made. This is the best Kombucha that I have tasted and I now buy it by the case. You can order delivery online and it is worth the trouble 😍😍😍😍

Yesterday, I had the privilege of reading a tribute to Sharon, my dear friend&the wife of another wonderful pal Thierry, at her funeral. It was both very difficult to do and very easy because she was an extraordinary person. So compassionate, so intelligent, so beautiful. I will miss her greatly xxx
