"Pet quality" has negative connotations when you are talking about a koi or a dog. It means it is not show quality or even breeding quality, but it will make a dandy pet. When you are talking about a capybara, "pet quality" means that as a baby it is friendly and curious and will probably tame down nicely.

Capybaras can be interesting indoor pets. I know of several that were perfectly behaved and not much more challenging than a clever dog. Dobby was not one of those. He was about as naughty as they come, and proud of it!

We love summer. Our turtle, Dr. Pepper, only bothers to emerge on sunny summer days. He'll dive below and bury himself in the mud in October.
