France 😭 I'm dreading the elections next year! WTF? At this stage, I'm just left wondering what really matters to people?

I love this! Can we put this up massively everywhere...more than the guidelines for women on how to protect and save themselves. Don't get me wrong, both are required but I wish the emphasis would be on this one.

Every time fascist forces are on rise, the other extreme will rise as well. The last decade has seen the far right gaining ground in France,to the extent that they are slated to win comfortably the next year's elections.That plus the failure of the socialists is pushing people towards communism.

If you look at the countries in South America right now, they are all electing pro-Trump governments. Even if Brazil in itself can't do much and might be constrained by it's ties to China, overall it is not great news for the region.

This makes no sense. Universal child care does not mean free childcare for everyone. It means everyone pays according to their ressources. So in the same playschool, a poor family pays nothing while a rich family pays more. Both according to their income.

Migrants are often staunch anti-immigrants. Not just in UK but look at the Latino MAGA supporters or immigrants supporting Le Pen in France.Their need to belong and fit in, in the country of their birth or residence supercedes empathy. They also feel "bad immigrants" reflect badly on them all.

I remember when climate change was a new thing and people reacted by saying that is just a bunch of lies,fake news etc.Fast forward to today and people are wondering what happened. With climate change, it took a few decades to jolt people into believing. We won't have that time with AI. Scary stuff!

It wasn't really that close though. If you look at the winning percentage yes but with a 80% turnout that is significant. Also, Iceland has the EEA, they have NATO, even Schengen, so a EU membership suddenly looks like a lot of hassle for not that much added benefit.
