Is there a way to purchase your works? In particular some “floaty boats”?

Fully electric aviation has some major challenges (mostly: batteries are heavy and don't get lighter as they get used up) but I love the idea of decreasing aircraft emissions through a hybrid approach, perhaps as a step toward new, clever solutions for fully electric air transport in the future.

When we talk about the costs that LLMs impose on society we should not forget the fact that nothing works anymore because everyone is so scared of getting their shit scraped. I can't even use google scholar from my university or starlink because they send too much traffic.

PMC COVlD Update, Sep 21, 2026 (US) 🔥13th COVlD wave 🔥40 states/territories with outbreaks (see Alt text) 🔥3.8 million estimated weekly infections 🔥Outbreaks in NYC 🔥Extremely high levels on the Big Island of HI Mask up and get boosted. 🧵THREAD (1/4)
The US has at least 34 states and territories with COVlD outbreaks. These include Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Guam, Hawai'i, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia. Levels on the Big Island of Hawai’i are particularly high. Note also, the NYC area is seeing outbreaks.

There are likely outbreaks in additional states. The summary statistic of 40 only includes counties with observed data, rather than estimated data. For example, Idaho, Louisiana, Maryland, and Tennessee likely have outbreaks, but monitoring is poor.

It’s the non mRNA- which doesn’t matter to me. There was some “research” that the adjuvant made it more effective. Which does matter to me. But I haven’t seen that data in a bit. Obviously don’t cite me as an expert. I got sick as hell in ‘23 and will take any extra precautions I can. Real imagined!

One idea @gothamist.com. Can we make the local NY vaccine guidance more prominent? Put that first? If someone reads the incorrect federal guidance, they might not read the whole piece, and they'll miss the all-important LOCAL guidelines. (Misinformation can be amplified by paragraph placement.)

Breaking: Michael Burry says OpenAl and Anthropic are faking the Al warnings due to slow growth ahead of IPOS

Below are his reasonings:
1. LLMs are not Al and won't be AGI. There is nothing Al to slow down.
2. Competition is coming up fast, slowing benefits incumbents.
3. IPOs need hype & puffery; "we are so awesome it could become dangerous" is hype & puffery
4. Cover for real uncontrollable slowing growth as IPOs look to be pushed out

Wholesome story of the week 🫶
What is the most a dollar has ever gotten you?

TLDR: A wife, three beautiful children and frankly my life as I know it.
Story time: Back in Jr. High, I liked a girl and flirted with her quite a bit. One time, during a band trip, we stopped at a gas station and she bought me a pack of gum. I tried to pay her back $1 but she refused.
So, I slipped the $1 in her pocket. She then slipped the dollar in my backpack and so began the back and forth with the $1 bill. We found silly ways to give it back and forth. I mailed it to her house. She stuffed it in a gum wrapper and offered me a piece. I then decided that I would ask her out on this $1. I wrote, "Will you go out with me" on it and put it in a note and gave it to her. She said yes (of course, it would be a terrible story otherwise, I suppose).
About four years later, I still had the same dollar kept away. On our anniversary, I wrote "Will you marry me" on the bottom of the dollar. We have been married for 15 years and have three awesome kids. We still have that dollar stored away.

Title: Night Rain at Kawarako, Ibaraki (1947) Artist: Hasui Kawase www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/new... #ShinHanga #Art #Showa #NoAi #HasuiKawase #Rain #Ibaraki #Japan
Evening rain falls on a street in Ibaraki. In the foreground, a little wooden boat rests at a skewed angle by the side of the road; further on, wooden houses line either side of the street, warm yellow light glowing in their windows. A figure carrying an umbrella is walking away from us, disappearing beyond a rise in the road. Above, beyond utility poles and power lines, rain continues to fall from an overcast sky.
