Dolly was an absolute gem and her legacy is much broader and deeper than many realize. My SIL is a teacher in East TN, not far from Dollywood and where Dolly was born, and the stories of the depth of impact of her community and literacy work there, in Nashville, and US wide is awe inspiring.

With a little reflection maybe I hold a little resentment (envy?) for those who do exercise self-expression. I practice a certain nonchalance, a lack of self-confidence dressed up in a lack of effort's clothing. It's much easier to be judged for a lack of effort than for effort unappreciated.

pet peeve: Male presenting members of the LGBTQ+ community who overtly espouse their 'masculinity' as some sort of badge of superiority. In objective measures I imagine I can probably out-butch many of these people but I'd hate to be so invested in something so controlled, rigid, and performative.
