In an effort to remind myself I’m not totally stuck in the past, I deleted 2/3 of my Discogs wishlist - anything prior to 1998 - and pulled together a collection of my favorite albums from this century. There’s still a handful of legacy artists, but most of them are new to the 2000s.

I started buying my own music in 1981 when I turned 11. Across the years I’ve occasionally bought one that - for whatever reason - I just wasn’t ready for. It might take weeks, months, or years, but something tells me to be patient. Tonight, one of those paid off. It only took 37 years.
