Reminds me of the old joke: An American and a Russian are talking politics. The American says the US is better because everyone's vote matters, not just the wealthy's. The Russian says their system is better because in the US only the wealthiest can bribe politicians but in Russia everyone can.

OpenAI pretty explicitly says that they tried to scoop Alpöge and Buckmaster, and strongly hints that their models are trained on A&B's notes, though perhaps even OpenAI can't be certain of this. Naturally OpenAI does not confirm that they tried to extort Buckmaster

Realizing the extent to which this is true wildly changed my opinions about how to deal with Trumpism, since they're never going to be satisfied unless they're actively dominating everyone else.
