Don't trust your entire digital life to a remote account.

Screenshot of an X post by Joshua Khane reading: “Microsoft DELETED my account AND OneDrive!!?? After ACKNOWLEDGING that I’m the owner of the account and that it was compromised??? 25 fucking years of data, thousands of euros spend on games?? My son’s baby pictures? GONE! All because MICROSOFT couldn’t bring back a compromised account?? One of the biggest companies ever couldn’t do that so they just deleted that shit like it was nothing?? Fucking shame on you!!” He tags several Microsoft support accounts and adds “#microsoft #hacked.” An attached screenshot shows a Microsoft Support email stating that unauthorized access occurred, the account was permanently suspended because its security settings could not be restored, the account cannot be recovered, and OneDrive files are no longer accessible. The post shows approximately 2,800 replies, 6,100 reposts, 46,000 likes, and 2.4 million views.

It's an old cartoon, but even more actual today than a few years back when it was drawn:

Two panel comics. Two guys watch America - protesters clash with police, cops are beating people of colour, there is no access to medical care, homeless people burning rubbish under the wall. They say "what a shithole, we need to fix it".

On the second panel everything stays the same but buildings are decorated with American flag, but they are happy they fixed it.

This July 4th I am sick and tired of the corruption of the Trump family and I blame Republicans for allowing this to happen!

Almost 10 hours and 47 nm of beating yesterday into 12-18 knots of wind. We took the outer route, so sailed a few hours into the Finnish Gulf, tacked and back in again. With a catastrophic 45 degree wind shift that was not in our favour. It became a long […] [Original post on mementomori.social]

Why do we have to be dependent upon a handful of people to be generous and do the right thing? Why should a handful of people get the credit? Decisions about where massive sums of money get spent shouldn't be in the hands of billionaires. Tax the crap out of 1%.

Who will dare to stand up and boycott the USA for their support and funding of President Putin's war against Europe, waged by proxy through Ukraine? When can we expect to see European leaders hold other nations and regimes like Iran, India, and China, accountable for their contributions to and […]

I can't wait to hear or read the explanation to the judge why the deadline for the physical removal of Trump's name from the Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts, which was _not_ extended, not only went unmet, but also why it was decided to _obscure with a tarp_ Trump's name, and not […]
