Please, for the love of God, can the media stop calling random cranks who write fan fiction about their personal heroes in the past "historians."
Geoff Shepard, a former Nixon aide turned Watergate historian and revisionist, recently gave a two-hour presentation at Justice Department headquarters that laid out his theory that the deep state took Nixon down. The title of his 78-page slide deck: “Watergate As Lawfare.”

Beyond the fact that it’s incredibly illegal and corrupt to use taxpayer dollars to run political ads on television, there’s another problem with re-running old ads like this: the messaging only reminds everyone what a fraud you are.
Black-and-white image of Donald Trump standing in a hallway from a recent ad he ran on TV with taxpayer funds. White subtitle text on a black bar at the bottom displays what Trump’s voiceover says in the ad: “we will expel the warmongers from our government.”

NEWS: Donald Trump’s own nephew, Fred Trump, is publicly calling out his uncle’s lies about 9/11, saying Trump’s claim that he brought a crew of workers to Ground Zero “so offends me that I need to speak out.”
Alt text: Screenshot of a post on X from Fred Trump (@FredTrump_) that reads:

“There are two reports out today that relate to the tragedy of 9/11. I will comment on them today because doing so on the 25th anniversary this Friday would take away from the solemn memories. I try not to comment personally about my uncle, but his claim that he brought a crew of workers to help at the sight so offends me that I need to speak out. He was not building a “big building “ at the time. The only crew he claimed to bring to the site would have been secretarial and accounting employees from Trump Tower I knew many of them, and pretty sure they were not capable physically to help (if they could, I am sure they would try). Regarding the US Steel Building, ironically, the grandfather of a very close friend of mine was one of the original engineers- the bldg was built strong. Second, the brother of a partner of mine was an engineer that was immediately called to perform an inspection. While people were originally concerned, it was eventually cleared for occupancy- not creaking and ready to fall. I hope this brings some truth to that story. The second story will follow. Black text on white page that reads:

In 1882, 10,000 workers marched up Broadway in the first-ever Labor Day parade. Led by democratic socialists and organized by New York’s unions, they rallied the movement that went on to win us weekends, safety standards, overtime pay, a minimum wage, and social security.

None of those victories were guaranteed. And none are permanent.

We created the first-in-the-nation Office of Worker Power to put the full weight of City Hall behind the people who keep New York running. On Labor Day, we honor the workers who came before us by fighting for the workers who come next.

Happy Labor Day, New York. The future of worker power is ours to build. Learn more at nyc.gov/workerpower.

It's worth noting that this isn't a random number but a goal that would simply restore the court to an earlier norm in which there's one justice for each of the judicial circuits. We used to have nine, we now have thirteen. The people defending the current setup have the tougher case to make here.
