Figured out after someone else asked if it was possible: If you draw in black and white with a two-tone brush, duplicate the layer, then apply "brightness to opacity" to the top layer, you get line and fill layers to colour as you see fit. Here's a few minutes work with some default CSP brushes:

The Steam game page and Steam version of the game, that is, Steam doesn't object to itch games linking to itch haha. And I seem to have gotten away with links in game and on Steam page to my github hosted homepage, which links to my credits page, which links to itchio assets.

Also I had to carefully scrub any direct links to itch not just from the game page but from any page linked from the game or game page, like my homepage and the walkthrough, even if I was just crediting an asset. Steam is apparently very strict about that sort of thing.

From a dev perspective: Steam objects to any other storefront having the same content cheaper, which is why Northanger Abbey Rewritten can't be PWYW like my other games, and I had to make sure the paid version had significant new content compared to the old PWYW one.

Absolutely! Both the original PWYW version and the updated version (which is the same as the Steam release in price and content) will be staying on itch permanently. The Steam release is to reach an audience not on itch, but the itch audience will always matter too :) Also, thanks!

I had a lot of fun with a friend playing the first edition. I feel like the kinds of stories and character behaviours it encourages are more about intrigue than Jane Austen novels tend to be, but that does create interesting gameplay.

Here's to life letting up sometime in the next two weeks so I have the energy to do some promotion leading up to Northanger Abbey's release. Festivals really have been a godsend for getting my game actually seen by anyone, much appreciation to the people who organise them.
