Our analysis shows that the measles virus seen in Utah as recently as May is very closely related to one that circulated in Texas a year ago. Given our findings, one expert said it’s going to be difficult for the U.S. to prove measles isn’t endemic: propub.li/3QAKxK1
A comparison of eight measles virus DNA sequences with 12 genetic letters each. The first sequence is labeled "Texas, May '25," and the rest are labeled as Utah and dated between June '25 to May '26. The sequences for "Texas, May '25" and "Utah, June '25" are identical, and the first five letters of all sequences stay the same. After the "Utah, June '25" sequence, each sequence gains one to two mutations from the previous sequence listed.

Scientists who study climate don't automatically attribute all changes to human activity. Rather, we carefully investigate every possible natural factor that could explain the planet's warming. Could these be the real culprits? The evidence is in--and the answer is NO. This thread explains! 🧵

Folks are getting worked up about my recent claim that U.S. National Weather Service costs $3-4 per person/year. Well, some math: NWS budget of ~$1.3 billion, ~160 million tax returns, & ~345 million Americans means ~$8/taxpayer, or (indeed) ~$3.75/person. That's...quite a deal.
