There are GOP politicians who are not pedophiles or personally massively corrupt, but all of them are in submissive thrall to a president who *is* a corrupt pedophile, and who has, by virtue of his position, made the party into his own image. It now protects and valorizes immorality and corruption.

❌ MYTH — “Authors Sell More Books After Being Banned.”
Gold-colored graphic with a dotted line border. There is one myth and its rebuttal displayed at the center of the graphic. Myth: “Authors Sell More Books After Being Banned.” Fact: The vast majority of authors do not see a bump in sales or receive increased financial support after one or more of their titles have been banned. In many cases, book bans mean that an author also loses out on valuable opportunities to connect with readers — such as school visits, book tour stops, festival appearances, or other public speaking engagements — decreasing their income and their ability to promote and sell their books. The effects for smaller authors who are not already considered “bestsellers” can be even more significantly felt. Source: Book Riot - “You’re Wrong About These Common Myths About Book Bans” (2024).

❌ MYTH — “If I Can Still Buy a Book Through Retailers, It’s Not Really Banned.”
Gold-colored graphic with a dotted line border. There is one myth and its rebuttal displayed at the center of the graphic. Myth: “If I Can Still Buy a Book Through Retailers, It’s Not Really Banned.” Fact: School libraries and public libraries play a fundamental role in keeping literature accessible to students and patrons. Even if particular book titles can be accessed elsewhere, the restriction of them in libraries and public schools remains a potential infringement of students’ constitutional rights. Privately purchasing books via alternate means is a privilege that not every student or library patron has access to, and further-more, purchasing a book for one’s private collection does not negate or neutralize the impacts of a book ban, nor increase its accessibility to the public. ❌ MYTH — “Book Bans ‘Only’ Impact School Libraries.”
Gold-colored graphic with a dotted line border. There is one myth and its rebuttal displayed at the center of the graphic. Myth: “Book Bans ‘Only’ Impact School Libraries.” Fact: Increasingly, we’re seeing attempts to ban and censor books beyond school libraries. According to a 2023 article in Harvard Ed., 48% of book challenges were directed at public libraries, impacting the accessibility of titles to the wider community. Even more alarmingly, earlier in 2026, the state of Arkansas introduced an amend-ment known as Arkansas Act 372, which moves to include librarians AND booksellers as being among those who can be criminally charged for “distributing or providing materials deemed harmful to minors”. Book banners also target book stores and booksellers in their efforts. Source: Harvard Ed. - “Book Bans and the Librarians Who Won't Be Hushed” & EveryLibrary.

❌ MYTH — “Book Bans Don’t Have Significant Economic Impacts.”
Gold-colored graphic with a dotted line border. There is one myth and its rebuttal displayed at the center of the graphic. Myth: “Book Bans Don’t Have Significant Economic Impacts”. Fact: In order for a book to be banned, copies of the book have to be on shelves, which is taxpayer money already spent. If a ban has to be reviewed by a committee prior to removal, every member of the committee also has to have a copy of the book. Then there is the “labor” component, or the human cost behind such reviews, since taxpayer dollars pay the salary of the employees who are spending some—or much—of their time reading challenged books. Research from EveryLibrary found that in Texas alone, citizens can expect to pay around $3.6 Million to ban books; Florida’s costs come to between $34,000 and $135,000 per library or school per year; in Missouri, taxpayers can expect to pay 10% of a school district’s per-student expenditures on banning just one book. ❌ MYTH — “I’m Not Worried, Because Book Bans Happen Slowly.”
Gold-colored graphic with a dotted line border. There is one myth and its rebuttal displayed at the center of the graphic. Myth: “I’m Not Worried, Because Book Bans Happen Slowly.” Fact: Prior to 2021, the vast majority of book challenges involved one title at a time. But starting in 2022, 90% of attempts were aimed at banning multiple titles at once, according to the ALA, and 40% involved challenges to 100 or more books. According to PENAmerica’s book ban tracking, there were 3,362 book bans filed during the 2022-2023 school year, which dramatically jumped up to 10,046 ban attempts in the 2023-2024 school year, with numbers steadily trending upward every year. We cannot afford to be complacent in our fight against book bans, because they’re impacting authors, schools, librarians, and even book sellers more and more often. HUGE: Elizabeth Warren, AOC, and other members of Congress have introduced a bill to push private equity out of healthcare. The Stop Corporate Takeovers of Physicians Act would make it illegal for private equity, insurance companies, and for-profit corporations to own or control medical practices.

Because Amazon takes months to pay authors. They sit on our money longer than, I believe, any other platform. If the book is on Itch or DriveThruRPG, get it there - we can cash out on those platforms any time. Direct from the author is also a good option. But failing that, anyone but Amazon.

Okay, so...I post this every now and then. If an independent author you like is saying they don't have money for groceries/editing/a conference/whatever and need it quickly and you decide to buy their next book to help them out: Unless they're exclusive to Amazon, don't buy from Amazon. Why?

$5000 dividend to every adult if the GOP maintains control of Congress and State governments. A.K.A. a BRIBE destined to make inflation WORSE! That's the best TrumpCo can do. What are we up to now, $12k offered throughout this term to every adult? What have we gotten? High gas prices, war, etc.

Y'know, with this Spider-man and Jake Lang business, I wondered if Peter Parker ever used his webbed cameras to gather visual evidence for blackmailing certain individuals if they ever unmasked him and threatened to out him to the public? I'm sure he at least considered it after a few years.
