This is your reminder that despite being full of microplastics, YOU are still nature. When you look at trees, bugs, birds, leaves, you are looking at yourself. Our society is so anthropocentric that we often see ourselves as separate. That separation is a lie taught to disconnect you. Reconnect!! 🌱

new jersey tea sprouts. these are a tricky one as they want everything to burn down first before they’ll germinate. put seeds in mason jar, fill with boiling water, let them soak a couple of days, cold stratify for 3 months then plant on top of soil and keep moist for 2 months #nativeplants

As a gardener in the US South who has a special interest in native plants, it's annoying to me how much permaculture content and gardening content online is focused on the West Coast and Midwest. Yes, I'm following several Southern gardening channels, but most of those are based on food gardening.

Williamsbirnenblüte. 🌱

Layering beds thickly with bulbs, perennials, annuals, shrubs & even small trees is 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 way of maximizing form & function plus giving structure to winter gardens if you adopt miminal winter/spring cleanup techniques. Plus #FantasticFoliage! #gardening #bloomscrolling #FlowerReport #SmallJoys 🌱
Burgundy finely cut foliage with yellow green stems emerges from woody stems eventually becoming a chartreuse foliage ‘Lemony Lace’ Elderberry that fades to green later in summer and has fall colors too. Plus flowering buds and fruit, though the birds usually come for the buds long before we get fruit.

🌱Bonus trellis! The last one built was the first one planned over 5 years ago. The clematis and honeysuckle finally have a legitimate framework for support. Now on to the real gardening chores…
The front north elevation of the green blue grey house with odd cream colored trim and black windows. This is the gable end with the peak of the gable and a fugly attic vent. A cedar wood trellis with black grid work and black accent hardware should be hopefully centered in the conifer bed. Wee violets in bloom in front.
