I think it's interesting to compare to Destroy All Monsters where to try and make the human stuff interesting DAM also rips off the popular sci-fi action stuff of the day which was James Bond movies and with Final Wars it's The Matrix with a little bit of Star Wars.

CAUSE I'M MISTER DAAAAARRRKKKSEEEID!~

New status quo~ And I just can't stop, it's killing me Though I will control~ Jealousy~ Turning heroes into slaves~ Grannie sings sick lullabies Godfrey's spewing alibis~ But it's just the price you'll pay~ Destiny is calling me~ Omega beams shoot out my eeyyyyyeees~

Now they're falling in line and becoming my slaves~ While the heroes are trapped and the Bat's time displaced~ Then the Kryptonian sings and my stomach is sick~ And it's all on the page and it's changing my PAAASSST NOWWW~

Comin' out of my tube and I'm doing just fine~ Gotta gotta control because I want it all~ It started out with a kiss, now you're crushed by ten billion fists~ To anti-life you'll submit, to anti-life you'll submit~

Even the Student Council Has Holes is a really entertaining raunchy gag heavy show that no one will watch because it's stuck on OceanVeil of all things.

Sgt. Frog Returns. I know nothing about Sgt. Frog other than my brother in law really likes it and this new one was entertaining and frenetic but I'm not really sure what kind of show it ultimately is. I guess time will tell.

I didn't know the term 'foid' until a couple days ago and I have spent the past few days being unreasonably mad at how worthless my gender is.

Happy Anniversary to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on PS1 in North America! 🧛‍♂️🦇🏰 It has an awesome soundtrack and gorgeous pixel art. The castle is loaded with secrets. And then you find out there's a entire second castle to explore! What a legendary classic.

Happy Fullmetal Mean Girls Day, to all who celebrate.

Shot from Fullmetal Alchemist.

New TV looks good, but we're going to have to move some wall art since the bigger TV blocks some of it.

I think there is also a video game mentality to it where if you just have the right attitude, perseverance, and put in the right inputs you can have anything you want and real life isn't that logical.

It's really frustrating how much nothing happens in this game because Arkride Solutions is my favorite cast of any of the Trails games.

I'll probably give in a buy something on the steam sale despite getting a new TV because I am not immune to capitalism.

I think the "AI as sentient threat" narrative is incredibly sticky - I think it comes from a century of sci-fi stories + the fact that ppl prefer outlandish conspiracy theories over mundane ones.

from 2001. no one’s doing product testimonials like this anymore. t.co/PEswCtbEZz

Toyota's unease at being associated with the Taliban and Al Qaeda is evident. In its September statement, the company said,
'Toyota does not have a sales or distribution channel in Afghanistan, and we do not export vehicles to that country."
Somewhat less laconic was Wade Hoyt, Toyota's spokesman in New York, who put the best corporate spin on the situation this week.
"It is not our proudest product placement," he said. "But it shows that the Taliban are looking for the same qualities as any truck buyer: durability and reliability."

I'm not trying to be a dick here, but the "but HOW can we justify NOT GIVING GRACE to ANOTHER HUMAN BEING, knowing AS WE DO that MAN IS FALLIBLE" framing somehow only gets used with people whose bad acts you approve of, not, like people you actually find reprehensible or even mildly annoying

Always think about the Daily Show bringing on a Palestinian peace activist who said 'The one perspective I have no respect for is that of a bloodthirsty American.'

It's true that Israel war crime deniers have weaponized antisemitism to a point it's hurt the ability to point out antisemitism but at the same time antisemitism has gotten SO MUCH worse even on this site holy shit and you can't use the atrocities going on to justify tbe bigotry in your heart.

As frustrating as it can be in practical result sometimes, the fact that democrats and people on the left aren't as lavishly devoted to brand IS a good thing.
