Here is a White-necked Puffbird. This bird is more frequently heard than seen, but we found one at the top of tree on an early morning canoe outing. They are widespread in the Amazon basin and are known to eat insects. Waita Lodge, Cuyabeno Reserve, Ecuador

A stout bird with a black cap and mask, white on the brow, chin, and neck, broad black chest band and black wings, back, and tail, and white on the belly. The bird is perched on a thick branch against a cloudy sky.
