So I made a comic about my struggle with depression. It was a tough one but I feel loads better now that I've got it out of my system. I hope you may be able to find hope in it if you're struggling. treebeerdstuff.com/2026/10/05/d...

Charlie Rybak’s dad, RT Rybak, bares a large responsibility for the managed decline of MPS as one of the charter school movements first & loudest supporters. Michael Baskins WANTS to close MPS schools. he said it at the SAENA candidate forum on wed., sept. 16. plz DO NOT let this man win.

Michael Baskins, running for Minneapolis School Board, has a really impressive background and vision. Lots here on transparency and financial responsibility. He's a mechanical engineer and emphasizes collaboration. Seems like exactly what we need. baskinsforschoolboard.com/my-vision/

And it is also a dramatic misunderstanding of OCD, which tends to cause behaviors that link two concepts with no causality together (if I don’t check my locks 8 times my dog will die)not maintaining habits that *do* have a causal effect (if I wear a mask regularly I will be less likely to get covid)

Pathologizing any behavior you have no context for is sinister and should be seen for what it is: pointing targets out for the right wing while you hide behind a rock.

brief reminder because a TikTok video of an asshole is going around, disabled people trying to avoid illnesses that could make them more disabled is not OCD, it is lived experience with a disability that you do not have, and thus should have your stupid mouth closed and stupid ears open about.

Ok. So just ban them outright, then. That's the safest idea! Dedicated bus lanes would be more efficient & environmentally friendly.

Bay Area tech people famously live in a temperate climate where very rare snow shuts most of the city down. Waymos are such a STUPID idea in MN, land of snow & ice & sleet. When someone is inevitably killed in a Waymo accident, whom can the family seek recompense from? Let's ban them outright in MN!

The fun thing for me is when it's the same creator making the art & asking you to engage with it in different ways, e.g. writers who have done picture books, YA, & novels. Or just the span of Kelly Sue DeConnick's comics. Pretty Deadly is doing something different than Captain Marvel & that's OK!

Pet insurance is not a great option for artists because it's one more monthly cost, and often it won't cover pre-existing conditions even if your pet is young. I just pay out of pocket. If you want to help, I have a Ko-Fi for donations (or just tell people to buy my books).

“The grand master of urban entertainments, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec made many paintings and drawings on the circus theme in the late 1880s and 1890s, just as his popularity as a commercial artist soared. Fin-de-siècle Paris hosted an assortment of professional circuses, and Lautrec frequented them all. He was personally drawn to circus performers-those colorful equestrians, animal trainers, clowns and acrobats on society's "fringes." It was while undergoing treatment for alcoholism at a sanitarium on the outskirts of Paris in 1899 that Lautrec produced an ambitious group of crayon/chalk drawings of circus figures. These imaginative sketches were drawn entirely from memory, without recourse to preliminary studies. The Lehman horse and rider perform the "pas espagnol", the ambling gait formalized by the Spanish Riding School of Vienna. It was thanks to these circus drawings that Lautrec earned his release from the sanitarium-their impressive handling convinced doctors of his improving health. As Lautrec left the clinic, he is said to have remarked, "I've bought my release with my drawings." “

Incessant news coverage? That writer, who wrote a whole article about it, is completely dense. A lot of people read the news still, like we might read Rolling Stone articles. If we read the news, we aren't *hearing a song* even if we've heard of it now, because of this inane article.
