I cannot get over that water tbh. And this ludicrously operatic duck.

A male Barrow's Goldeneye swimming. The water is golden-colored and has an interesting warped geometric texture with a few splashes of blue because it's reflecting a building that was, in turn, reflecting the lowering afternoon sun.

This is a white duck with a black back and black head. Six white spots break up the solid black of his back, while the black of his head is interrupted by his bright yellow eye and a teardrop-shaped patch of white just behind his black bill.

Favourite find of the day at Holme Fen NNR - a perfect clump of Drumsticks Aulacomnium androgynum, a #moss named after its stalked balls of gemmae, which break off and grow into new plants. Taken on a quick walk before meeting up with #GreatFen volunteers for mince pies! #bryophyte 📸
