"Vote NO": Colorado's Top Medical Groups Formally Oppose Anti-Trans Ballot Prop. 135
There is not a single major medical group in the country that endorses blanket government restrictions on gender-affirming care like the one outlined in Prop. 135.

People get confused about the trans sports thing because at a glance it seems like a small issue that impacts a very small number of people and thus makes sense as a "reasonable" concession. But it isn't, because conceding that is accepting that a kid's trans identity is on some level fraudulent

One thing I wish people would realize is just how central JK Rowling is to the entire anti-trans ecosystem. Looking at a network node analysis of the top 200 anti-trans X accounts, she is the most central figure spanning both sides of the Atlantic from Republicans to Labour.
A network graph visualization on a dark background showing connections between various accounts. The central, highly connected node is labeled "J.K. Rowling," with lines radiating out to many other nodes color-coded by region (UK, US, etc.). A detail panel on the right displays stats for her account, including her role as "Author & commentator," an in-degree of 153, an out-degree of 84, and 14 million followers.A scatter plot graph on a dark background comparing accounts based on "followers (log)" on the x-axis and "in-degree" on the y-axis. The data points are color-coded by region. J.K. Rowling is highlighted as a major outlier in the top right corner, possessing the highest number of followers and the highest in-degree. Other labeled points lower on the graph include various politicians, individuals, and campaign organizations.

Same with gender-affirming care for kids. Good-faith concern would be, "gee we should be making sure kids are appropriately assessed before receiving care and don't end up regretting it," realizing the numbers are tiny, kids are assessed and regret rates are miniscule and then dropping it.

Good-faith concern on this issue would be going, "hmm, professional sports leagues should probably have some standards in place to ensure trans competitors aren't getting an unfair advantage," googling for 5 minutes, realizing every sports league already has those standards and dropping it.

The IOC and NCAA only adopted these positions after direct threats from the Trump administration. They didn't come to this policy voluntarily. Yglesias knows better but his wealthy backers want him to keep pushing this line to get Dems to abandon trans people.
A screenshot of a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Matthew Yglesias (@mattyglesias) quoting a post by Billy Fleming (@JooBilly).
Matthew Yglesias's post reads: "Cunningham is articulating a view that 70-80 percent of Americans share, that reflects the law in many states, and that has been adopted by the IOC and the NCAA."
The quoted post by Billy Fleming reads: "It's kind of incredible to spend years building yourself up as one of the most likeable figures in the WNBA and then burn it all down to pick on a tiny and extremely vulnerable group of young, trans athletes. x.com/ComplexSports/..."
