A somewhat maximalist, very collage-heavy experiment piece this month, using a lot of my photography and some old Slovenian art

Digital collage and painting on vertical canvas
Theme: Fantasy / Dark fantasy / Experimental
Character: My OC Lubi (he/him, transmasc) and a skeleton
#Artsky #QueerArt #TransArt #DarkFantasy #SwordAndSorcery

This piece is almost entirely composed of photographs I took. It features a central long corridor that disappears into the darkness, every side of it a different texture. The left and right walls are photos of old walls, the ceiling is wood, and the floor is an enlarged photo of a gingerbread cookie I bought in a Polish shop in Ljubljana once, overlaid with an assortment of Turkish delight from Lidl. I've had these two photos for like 3 years and I'm so happy to finally put them to use lmao

In the front, slightly left stands a knight, who was traced with a lasso tool over a relief sculpture from Celje. He's wearing a dark armour with very colourful accents on skirt and flag, and his head is a fire. On his knee guards, one can spot a unicorn and a stag beetle in trans flag colours.

In the upper right corner, a dragon's head is sticking out of a wall, the fire it breathes joining in with the knight's fire hair. For this head I used a photo from an ornament on one of the 'healing springs' near my hometown. It's coloured in somewhat garish colours that reoccur across the picture, magenta, aqua, green and blue, and notably three of its fangs depict the white, pink and blue or the trans flag.

Lastly, underneath the head stands a skeleton, cut from the famous Danse Macabre fresco from the Holy Trinity Church in Hrastovlje. The skeleton is orange with green shadows, and splashes of magenta on some parts of its body.

Y'ALL. I AM IN LOVE WITH THE @portlandfire.bsky.social WNBA MASCOT. Every girl in Portland wants a Rose stuffie for Christmas. Including Tall Wife, who literally gasped when she saw Rose. SHE BREATHES GLITTER.

Rose, the WNBA PDX Fire mascot. She is a fabulous hot pink dragon with a crown of roses.

Patchouli Knowledge fanart made with watercolours and pencil. She poses with a black book on her right hand and her design is slightly different, with a white long sailor dress and boots with tiny colourful ribbons.

Please enjoy this comic lettering/speech bubble guide of what I've learned from making comics for over 8 years! (+Alt text!)

Word Balance: One comic speech bubble showing a good example of text balance to fit within its bubble, and another illustrating a common mistake, asymmetrical line lengths.

Bubble Balance: Two comic speech bubbles, one is stretched far too wide, the other showing how it could be compressed instead, gaining both space and style, with added comfort.

Bubble-Text Balance: Three bubbles showcasing different ratios of Bubble-to-Text-size. All are valid if done intentionally and can subtly express emotions and feelings, for example: A spacious bubble can convey calm or confidence, and a cramped bubble can convey stress or tension.

Line Spacing Balance: Two bubbles showing how poor line spacing can affect readability.

Daily reminder that GDscript supports the Sumerian clay table alphabet, Akkadian cuneiform of ancient Mesopotamia. This is perfectly valid code you can write in your game:
