One of the theories I have about the psychology of most Americans is that our serious people think of "Nazis" as like, a type of fictional villain like orcs or klingons or something and not as a real thing that happened, and that's why they find accusing someone of being a nazi silly or distasteful.

Why do the desperate become religious? What is it about eternal love that calls to us at our lowest? Religion is tricky. You can be an evil person in a faith that teaches love. Maybe that need in us is just too strong to ignore. The desire to be good and loving. Even if only selfishly.

A "mile" is derived from Latin "mīlle passus" or "1000 steps" & was defined as the distance a legion would travel with 1000 double steps (left/right pace), which was 5000 'Roman feet', where pace = 5 feet. The *foot* was Marcus Agrippa's. So a mile is a decimal unit for steps with SI traceability!
