I'm getting close to the end with my group, might finish it this tuesday if we don't fart around too much. It's easily my game of the year. It's so fun getting to a new tower and everyone is looking around, pointing out puzzles and landmarks to each other, fighting over the binoculars to see better.

I've had some trouble finding something to run after Skyfortress considering they now have a skyfortress, which changes the scale things run on a little, but I'm thinking something kinda lame like "uhh the ship runs on X and it detects some X under this here dang lake." is GOOD ENOUGH.

The people in my FFXIV FC are getting antsy about playing ttrpgs again. I ran Broodmother Skyfortress for them last time, and they managed to take over the skyfortress, mostly by severely damaging everything (including themselves) with fall damage. I'm thinking Deep Carbon Observatory next.

No, but it can get you kicked out for bringing the wrong energy to the group. Ask your GM how much backstory they'd like and stick to that. And remember that in most cases, the more backstory you have, the less thoroughly it will be read.

If you want some tricks - Look for random objects in your room or take real names and add, remove, or change letters - Use the names of your extended family or social circles with no overlap with the group - Translate random words into some language nobody in the group speaks

On top of what I mentioned, yeah. Mention the vibe (silly/serious/whatever) and mention your lines and veils for example, and say that others can message you if they'd like to add some. I'd want more for a proper campaign, of course, but just for a one shot that's plenty good enough for me.
