I have been a Chase Freedom Card member for almost 20 years. It was my very first credit card. I got it after I graduated college. And after 20 years out of nowhere, #ChaseBank increases my APR with the explanation of, “Because we can!” This is exploitative.

Amazon doesn’t pay taxes. Google doesn’t pay taxes. Multiple billion-dollar industries don’t pay taxes, and yet I am a little late with my payment and you come after ME?! Someone with a combined household of less than $150k a year? If these billion-dollar industries don’t have to pay, why should I?

My love for Seattle and Chicago is like a Christmas Hallmark movie. Seattle is the rich boyfriend I made after graduation, and Chicago is my first love that I end up with at the end of the movie.
