I also love the fact that he really does feel trapped and trying to make the best of a bad situation, the director did great not making him feel like he was ever completely "in control" like the main character of a video game can feel.

This explains so much about why I really liked this movie. Bryan had agency in his own film, despite his bad decisions under stress. It really helps to feel like the character is relatable throughout, while also maintaining enough distance to remember you’re still in the audience & having fun.
