James Oswald @sirbenfro.bsky.social · 19hYou've got to admire the 'AI' sales people for hooking in so many C Suite idiots with that lie. It doesn't inspire any confidence at all that so many of them fell for it, and continue to do so despite all the growing evidence it doesn't work and is actively damaging. 211
James Oswald @sirbenfro.bsky.social · 21hThis is so weird, but also typical it would seem. Why the fuck did senior leaders purchase the software if they didn't know how they would implement it? (And yes, I know the answer, but fuck me it's grim.) 3212

James Oswald @sirbenfro.bsky.social · 08/10/2026If you're ever offered a contract that expects you to waive your copyright, walk away. A contract is a licence to exploit rights, not own them. It's bad enough that publishers are failing in their duty to protect your rights, without actually trying to take them away from you altogether. 2122

James Oswald @sirbenfro.bsky.social · 07/10/2026This is excellent advice. I generally write in the evening after the day job's done, but I always try to get something down in the morning so my brain can work away at it while I'm checking the coos. 0110
