What happens when you suddenly remove half of an essential enzyme from cells? 🤔 We watched in real-time as cells deploy multiple backup strategies to buffer against changes in RNA Pol II abundance. Our lab's new preprint 👇 bit.ly/4pyPgax

Hello #AcademicBsky hivemind! Is there anyone out here (preferably from Australia / nearby) who uses FIB or BE lithography at submicron resolution on materials like quartz, and might be interested in collaborating with us on a cool new project? Happy to take recommendations. 🧪 🔬

How is mitochondrial volume maintained across successive generations of dividing cells? In our new preprint, we show how fission yeast cells use mitochondrial activity to control division timing and maintain mitochondrial homeostasis! (1/n) 📖 www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

We’ve had a single molecule festival here today at the @UNSW SciFest yesterday. Our corner of the exhibition featuring light sensing robots 🤖, reef cleaning super hero bacteria 🦸🏾‍♂️ , miniature microscopes, when killer T cells. A wonderful team effort and a busy evening for Team Molecular Medicine.
