Bill Gates is right about this. I don't think our leadership class are fully conscious yet about the period of massive economic transformation we have entered. The “protest against the death penalty” that Neo Swee Lin and Lim Kay Siu (and others, including myself) have been charged for was this: we went to court to support a friend who’d been charged. Afterwards, we stood outside the courthouse and someone snapped some photos. Then we left. That’s it.

What happened on Jan 6, 2021?

On January 6, 2021, Congress met at the U.S. Capitol in a joint session to certify the Electoral College count for the 2020 presidential election. Vice President Mike Pence presided. The session began around 1:00 p.m.

The Capitol and its exterior plaza were closed to the public that day. A crowd later entered the building without authorization. Around 2:20 p.m., members of the House and Senate, including the Vice President, were evacuated. The joint session was suspended until shortly after 8:00 p.m., then completed in the early hours of January 7.

The Government Accountability Office later described the events as an attack on the Capitol. It reported assaults on about 140 police officers, about $1.5 million in damages (from Department of Justice and U.S. Capitol Police information), and at least seven deaths connected to that day.

I wore this shirt to the State Courts for my court mention for one count of "taking part in a public assembly within a prohibited area". Security wouldn't let me into the building wearing it. I ultimately took it off by the entrance and turned it inside out before I was allowed in.
