The specific point of contention relates to diesel back-up generators. I am not crazy about diesel back-up generators but this data center is being constructed on US-1, along which diesel trucks roar past constantly. Any generator usage on the site will really be a minor addition to that.

Loved seeing this from the Washington Spirit on Instagram yesterday. It shouldn’t always have to be clubs like the Spirit that move like this for the community but this is important work. Especially in an environment like 2026 America where a public facing stance is a lightning rod.
