Simeon Pickup @simfrombucks.bsky.social · 15/03/2025Stevenage w/ the best 'away team performance' at the SCL this season: stopped us from playing, slowed game down when they wanted to gave #ReadingFC a frustrating challenge which we didn't have the answer to too tired (fatigue and tactically). glad for the international break 031
Simeon Pickup @simfrombucks.bsky.social · 10/03/2025last two games have brought #ReadingFC back down to earth somewhat, but think we need a bit of perspective, so here's a piece on that from me + kudos to Noel Hunt for getting results out of an increasingly depleted side that feels like it's running on fumes atm 030
Reposted by Simeon PickupRoss Webber @webberross.bsky.social · 17/02/2025Here's Savage's overall touchmap from Rotherham (Thanks @simfrombucks.bsky.social) There's no huge tweak to a 4-2 buildup structure or anything that dramatic, but clearly Hunt is moving Savage more central and encouraging more #readingfc midfield rotation Frees Knibbs up higher up the field too 032

Simeon Pickup @simfrombucks.bsky.social · 01/12/2024Short version: I'm emotionally conflicted after that game. Obv pleased #ReadingFC won, but it was a needlessly stressful way to get there (a phrase gladly pinched off @wimby.bsky.social Long version: in the article :) 060

Reposted by Simeon PickupKate Bevan @katebevan.com · 16/11/2024I'm seeing a lot of beard-stroking about why BlueSky has taken off, but honestly, it's largely down to lucky timing: Musk started trashing Twitter, and then Trump won the election. The clever bit was making it look and feel like old Twitter. 2120919
Simeon Pickup @simfrombucks.bsky.social · 16/11/2024As much as I love going to #ReadingFC games, it's also actually really nice to have a weekend off from it every now and again. This season seems to be more draining than previous ones - fixture list has been pretty intense, and the interminably slow takeover doesn't make it any better lol. Just me? 3131

Simeon Pickup @simfrombucks.bsky.social · 16/11/2024Think Chem Campbell had a pretty slow start at #ReadingFC - although his work rate looked good from the off and he obv had that brace against Burton. Picking up recently though. Goal against Stockport, three assists in his last two, and generally looking like a more reliable threat at RW. 061

Simeon Pickup @simfrombucks.bsky.social · 15/11/2024Really liked Gladiator 2. Not as good as the first, but still a good film in its own right. If the first is a 10/10, this was prob a 7/10 Paul Mescal v good. Action scenes great Wasn't quite as focused as the original and it seemed a bit unsure on how much to deviate from the original, but... 200
Simeon Pickup @simfrombucks.bsky.social · 15/11/2024Thank you! ☺️ Yeah agreed. Will be helpful if we can get Abrefa back, potentially use Craig as a CDM away from home Also a shame we haven't been able to see Ryan and Clarke at fullback - think both would have done well this season 100
Simeon Pickup @simfrombucks.bsky.social · 15/11/2024General summary from me on how I think Ruben is doing. #ReadingFC's home/away disparity is frustrating, but not sure how much better we should be doing in the circumstances. He's been excellent at developing individual players though, which imo we take for granted a tad. 161
Simeon Pickup @simfrombucks.bsky.social · 15/11/2024(2/2) I'll be staying on Twitter for the foreseeable, and to be honest I'd much prefer it if Twitter just improved, but that doesn't seem plausible while Musk is in charge. 030
Simeon Pickup @simfrombucks.bsky.social · 15/11/2024No idea how well BlueSky will develop over the coming months/years, but for the time being it's really cool and nice that a lot of people are collectively deciding to try to build something better away from Twitter. (1/2) 140
