An exciting extension to the #ggplot2 universe 🍾 I love how Alex has tied the new features to best #dataviz practices, and he even added a coaching option. I’m especially excited about the easy way to place the y-axis title at the top, plus even more shapes that are usable right out of the box 🤘

Important reminder why survey results examining the % of people who believe in conspiracies should not directly be interpreted as the % of people who believe in conspiracies. Respondents don't all answer seriously, so the news that 12 million people believe in lizard people is not accurate.

One year later: the depth of processing demo (unsurprisingly) replicated in my new intro psych cohort! The original thread contains instructions on how to implement this demo in your class—it's a crowd pleaser, and it can be a good grounding example for research methods and study designs.
A jitter plot showing results for a depth of processing demonstration. The y-axis has "number of words remembered," and the x-axis has "instructions given" with "font" and "house cat" as two groups. On average, students that had to note whether a word was larger or smaller than a house cat remembered more words than students who had to note whether a word was in black or blue font.
