The Blue Angels unexpectedly buzzed my building during early Covid and I just heard a roar and looked up from my desk in my apartment on a high floor and saw them like…right there? Like perfectly framed by one of my windows? When I tell people this now I sound like I have schizophrenia

Before #TheGildedAge Season 3, I profiled Carrie Coon, who has thoughts on being the "queen of HBO" — and opened up about TV vs. film, her #MovieNight ritual with husband Tracy Letts, and why she's going to keep talking about what's happening offscreen:

Joanna Karpowicz. Nitess💤
A painting by Joanna Karpowicz shows three girls holding hands with a man dressed in a dark suit wearing a mask of Anubis, the Egyptian god of the dead. They form a circle and dance in a forest clearing at dusk, surrounded by tall trees and an orange…

Camille Martin is an unjustly overlooked painter - Rodin called him exceptional. A soft light, characteristic of beautiful warm spring afternoons, diffuses in this superb work from around 1890. It's a painting which shows Martin was so much more than a stylish graphic artist.

Yes.
At one session at Harvard, Mr. Epstein criticized efforts to reduce starvation and provide health care to the poor because doing so increased the risk of overpopulation, said Mr. Pinker, who was there. Mr. Pinker said he had rebutted the argument, citing research showing that high rates of infant mortality simply caused people to have more children.
Mr. Epstein seemed annoyed, and a Harvard colleague later told Mr. Pinker that he had been "voted off the island" and was no longer welcome at Mr. Epstein's gatherings. The idea struck all three as far-fetched and disturbing. There is no indication that it would have been against the law.
Once, at a dinner at Mr. Epstein's mansion on Manhattan's Upper East Side, Mr. Lanier said he talked to a scientist who told him that Mr.
Epstein's goal was to have 20 women at a time impregnated at his 33,000-square-foot Zorro Ranch in a tiny town outside Santa Fe. Mr.
Lanier said the scientist identified herself as working at NASA, but he did not remember her name.
According to Mr. Lanier, the NASA scientist said Mr. Epstein had based his idea for a baby ranch on accounts of the Repository for Germinal Choice, which was to be stocked with the sperm of Nobel laureates who wanted to strengthen the human gene pool. (Only one Nobel Prize winner has acknowledged contributing sperm to it. The repository discontinued operations in 1999.)
