It all started on this day. Thank you for a wonderful twenty years.
Text in the center reads: 20 Years Oct. 2006 - Oct. 2026, clarkesworldmagazine.com

(right) Cover art for issue 241 by Marcel Deneuve is "Labyrinths of Azarax" and features a blue and white mechanical eye in a circular opening looking at a small, white, glowing humanoid figure standing on a large pipe in the tunnel. Many pipes line the walls, all heading out to the main room. Pipes are yellow and gray. Room beyond is blue.

(left) Cover art for issue 1 by Tomasz Pietrzyk is "The Town of the Towers" and features a surreal town of yellowy white distorted towers with reddish orange roofs that overhang the towers and rise to a point. Mishapen dark windows and doors are scattered about on the buildings. Orange sky gives the entire piece a warm tone.

Great moments in Scottish engineering history: James Watt tries to work out how his phone attaches to his selfie stick.
Statue of James Watt. In his right hand he holds a telescopic stick with a frame at the top; in his left he holds a flat object about the size of a large smartphone. He is scowling at the possibly-not-a-smartphone as if he is tempted to yeet it into the sea. On that basis, it probably _is_ a phone.

The Shape of Monsters The Shape of Monsters by C.L. Hellisen: A gothic descent into a world of darkness, magic and twisted loyalties. It started with an image of a tattooed man in his car, with his life in a shambles. I knew he was broken, and I knew he’d lost his family and was making a last ditch attempt to reconnect with his estranged sister.

Illustration by Andrew Owens of a person in a taco truck with a spatula, smoke drifting through the windows a greenhouse sits behind the truck, with the cityscape beyond that. The opposite page contains part of the story “The Best Taco in San Antonio” by Christopher R. Muscato.Pen sketch of a taco truck with a line of people outside.
