My wife's car tyre blew going over a patriotic pothole, so I have been taxi for the house this morning. We live in a Reform voting area. We have union flags on the local lampposts, and we routinely get fliers through the door about immigration. No one is maintaining the roads. #PatrioticPotHoles

There's research to suggest that just ONE consistently safe adult makes a huge difference to a kid's outcome. It doesn't have to be a parent or relative. Really good piece. Disputes about authorship, encouraged by a perverse promotion system that discourages collaboration, have done so much damage to academic endeavour. I’ve mentored lots of young people & seen how often they are exploited and bullied my egotistical seniors.
