Train station coffee. Another very busy week ahead, and it is starting to feel cold in the mornings. I'm going to need to cheer up, or it is going to be a very long winter.
"Refresh - freshly made to go" black coffee cup.

The owner feels neither refreshed, nor ready to go anywhere, but at least the cup is black.

We are always absolutely delighted when another trust decides to adopt the #SASsix in their approach to their workforce. Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust joins multiple other Trusts in wanting to support their doctors to be all they can be. We salute you!

Looking a little autumnal out there, but there is still beauty even as the days grow shorter and colder. These were all taken with a Canon 10D from 2003 and a 28mm lens from the 90s. Cropped but otherwise unaltered. You don't need new gear to see the beauty of the world. #photography

I was joking that Ed Sheeran was this generation's Phil Collins at least a decade ago. Undeniably very talented, but so overexposed that it was inevitable people would cheer his downfall, and he really has earned this.

Photographers of BlueSky, what are the things you always do on a new camera? Mine are... Turn off the beeps Turn off the AF illuminator light I like being a little more subtle, and catching the moment. Beeps and flashing lights do not make for unobtrusive #photography .

Disappointing result, even if Spurs were clearly the better team today. As my brother-in-law wrote in his article for the Mail after the game: "Alas, they would struggle to hit a barn door from five yards." Gonna have to score a goal at some point, gents, or it isn't going to end well. #COYS

My kids didn't want what I had planned to cook, so I made something completely different. Chicken pesto pasta thing, with some cherry tomatoes, a little garlic and a splash of white wine, and then topped with some parmesan. 20 minutes, start to finish. I really should cook like this more often.
Chicken, salt and pepper, chopped cherry tomatoes, pasta, pesto, white wine, oil.

Out of shot is a clove of garlic.

Just been reading about the Mayor of London, convicted in absentia for not taxing a car he doesn't own, with the DVLA sending the demands and threatening letters to the wrong address, which is a restaurant owned by Gordon Ramsay. Eh? Is it April 1st?

My son, daft sod that he is, was victim of fraud. If your kids have mobile phones in the UK, make sure that third-party purchases are switched off, or their mobile number can be used to make purchases, billed to their mobile phone bill. News to me, and the bill was not a pleasant surprise.

The Eiffel Tower is quite striking from Trocadéro. I also quite like that this was taken with probably my oldest lens, a Saitex 28mm, which was a gift from a friend I made on the bird app, Dr Ollie Burton. I always take this lens on holiday. I had it mounted on my A7 ii this week. #photography

If you are at a loss for what to do with a half hour, and your floors seem dry, and your house smells alright, might I recommend bathing two puppies? It will pass the time, wet the floor, and introduce a new smell to your life. Sony A7ii, cheap Tamron 35mm lens. #photography

Planning to watch the eclipse on Wednesday evening? Here are some tips on how to safely enjoy the spectacle 🌒
Top tips for safely watching the eclipse.

The UK's skies are set for an impressive partial solar eclipse. Here's how to make the most of it, without risking your eyes.

Find a clear view.
You don't necessarily need to travel to the place with he highest eclipse coverage. Clear skies matter most. Find an unobstructed view towards the west or northwest, here the Sun will be low in the evening sky.Never look directly at the Sun.
Even during an eclipse, looking at the Sun with your naked eyes can cause permanent eye damage. Never look directly at the Sun without proper solar viewing equipment. Standard sunglasses are not enough.

Use certified eclipse glasses.
Make sure they: Meet the ISO 12312-2 safety standard; Are designed for solar viewing; Have no scratches, holes or tears.Try indirect viewing.
No eclipse glasses? You can safely watch by projecting the Sun's image. Make a pinhole projector, even using two pieces of paper and a pin can work. A kitchen colander can also create a fun projection of the eclipsed Sun.

Stick around for the meteors.
The Perseid meteor shower also peaks this week and can be visible across the UK. For the best chance of seeing meteors, get somewhere dark with a wide, unobstructed view of the sky.
Advice based on guidance from the Royal Astronomical Society.

This weekend is Y Not festival. I am not there. I am working. 15 years ago, my band played that festival. We also supported some up and coming bands. We never had any momentum. It was never going anywhere but it was awesome. I miss the noise and the people. I miss the youth and optimism of it all.

Gone a year. It has passed quickly. I've been too busy, with too much to do to really process anything. It always seems that something is more important than my own grief. Perhaps I have engineered it that way. Miss you, dude.

Sadly, I can't go to either of these gigs. Hopefully, it turns into a tour. Lonely the Brave are one of my favourite bands. If you don't like them already, you should have a listen. "Kings of the Mountain" is something I have to listen to occasionally to remind myself to keep on keeping on.

I have quite a few photos to go through from this year's @2000trees.bsky.social, but there won't be many that top this one. This is Battlesnake, doing a silent headphone disco set on the Forest stage around midnight. They were absolutely epic. #BacklitHorns #photography
Forest stage, with black sky above it. Sea of people in front all wearing headphones glowing blue to indicate they are all on the stage channel. Battlesnake stand with arms raised at the end of the song, backlit by stage lights, illuminating the singer's horned helmet.
