The thing is, I get Jeff Bezos. As a monopolist, it's obvious why he wants to get influential media to lobby against deregulation. The people I understand less are the ones he's going to get to shill for this with like fairly mid salaries. Complete sellouts.

For anyone else trying to be better with alt text but could do with a prompt sometimes when in a rush etc… You can prevent yourself from posting an image UNLESS you have alt text by going to: Settings -> Display -> ALT Text

We love how easy it is to add alt text on Bluesky, but there are still a lot of account sharing images who don't use it as standard. Alternative text helps anyone using assistive technology to understand what is in the image, even if they can't see it, making the post more inclusive. 1/

The UK public vote for Denise to be with Jack and not Ravi shows that this country is with the dogs. In this essay; how a public vote, resulting in the win of a bent white cop over a working class brown man, shows the U.K. is a racist country that values the illusion of authority over desire.

The Stonewall Inn released a response to the National Parks Service removing the word transgender from the park outside of the Inn. A great reminder that we have to look after each other

The Stonewall Inn and The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative are outraged and appalled by the recent removal of the word 'transgender' from the Stonewall National Monument page on the National Park Service website. This blatant act of erasure not only distorts the truth of our history, but it also dishonors the immense contributions of transgender individuals - especially transgender women of color - who were at the forefront of the Stonewall Riots and the broader fight for LGBTQ+ rights.

A 🧵 on what aid cuts mean for HIV. HIV treatment saves lives. Currently 20 million people worldwide are on treatment funded by the President’s Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). That funding was halted by Presidential order and then given a reprieve for 90 days. Its future is uncertain. 1/10
