And by making it easier for factories to hide exploited labor and hobbling our ability to pressure suppliers to pay what's owed, we've put US factories at a further disadvantage. It's now easier to sell a $2 T-shirt in the US, as you can exploit workers abroad and never be held accountable.

A Haitian factory producing clothes for The Gap and Hanes recently fired 14 pregnant women and union leaders. The WRC successfully pressured The Gap to work with them to pressure the factory, so that they would pay the wages owed and rehire these workers. The photo shows four of the women affected.
