I for one think it’s bad that the president can just say crazy stuff all day every day and 99% of it doesn’t make the news because we’ve normalized having an insane president

The one and only thing I miss about playing Genshin Impact is the music. I don’t know how it holds up after, but up through Sumeru there are tracks that I absolutely cannot believe came from a video game, let alone a free to play gacha. Just masterful. music.youtube.com/watch?v=-qm0...

I don't really believe in the otherworldly, but on this day, every year since she passed, I've always had some sort of experience that reminds me of my friend. It at least tells me she's still with me in the experiences we shared. Last year I had a dream so real I can still feel it, remember it.

Sweets in her favorite hammock bed, sensing a photo was being taken.

A closeup photo of Sweets so absurdly detailed I've turned it into a discord emote

she's inviting you to rub belly and it's not a trap, promise.

this is the best #eclipse photo I managed free handing a pair of 15x70 skymasters in one hand and my iPhone in the other The little bit of artifacting would be the moon reflecting off of my camera lens, onto the eyepiece of the binoculars I believe.

An amateur photograph of the near total eclipse in August 2026. It’s shown awash in a rusty hue.

Been negative a lot; so let's speak positive here about something I did enjoy today 🧵. Ribbon Hero (Movie), based on the "Princess Knight" manga by the legendary Osamu Tezuka. The manga received an adaptation in 1967, and was the 1st made-for-TV animated program geared towards girls in Japan.

Kei Mochizuki celebrates Ribbon Hero and his character design work, and thanks staff for teaching him how to key-frame for the first time, expanding his talents.

send this to your artist friends who are stuck on Twitter and are having trouble branching out

edit of the "Look Man He Helped Me Through a Very Tough Time" meme

The guy on the left representing X/Twitter is yelling "I LOVE GRADUALLY ENSHITTIFYING MYSELF WITH A SIDE OF CSAM"

the guy next to him, representing "artist (totally not stockholmed at all)" is telling a concerned person on the right with a cap on "look man it's the only website where I have reach, the changes aren't that bad you just gotta respect it."

Twitch's Former Chief Product Officer says the Discovery and Ads teams were once at war over Feed impressions (solved), and that Twitch streams with fewer than 1000 viewers are dead weight (since entertainment economics runs on ad rates). Very interesting historical insight!

The comparison to his Twitch years is the sharpest part. At Twitch, a stream under a thousand viewers was dead weight, because entertainment economics run on CPMs — ad rates per thousand viewers. On Whatnot, a seller with 50 people in a stream is like a shoe-store owner with 50 people in the shop: "you'd literally never shut down the store." He felt the cultural difference in his second week, when a seller complained on camera that the seven-second "sudden death" auction timer was too slow and wanted three seconds. Two engineers in the office heard it, changed a config in real time, and told the seller to refresh the app. "I'm with my people," he remembers thinking.

His favorite example comes from Twitch: the discovery team and the ads team were perpetually at war over feed impressions. The fix was structural. He put the same PM accountable for both organic and paid impressions, with a single metric — GMV (gross merchandise value) generated from the feed — and months of politics disappeared.

This obviously includes Cyberpunk 2077 and it's a scant $17 or so on its own. It's not a game that really needs me to sell it at this point, but if you haven't played it yet you really should. I'm glad I had that game this past month, it's yet another time a game has helped me process something.

Twitch and Amazon are apparently planning to use streams to train Generative AI. Multiple sources tell me it will be announced in the coming months, despite some internal friction against it. Creators may be able to opt out of some training data.
