Right? Well that or availability is affecting distribution 😬 Kind of a nice change though, definitely a non-zero number of times my dumb ass forgot to insert the SD when doing a deployment/commissioning 😩😅

SpotGideon @shepf.art · 9h

we’ve gotten a bunch of hardware builds pushed back by our contract manufacturer as they keep reprioritizing other company builds because of component shortages which would be a bigger deal for us, but a lot of our customers aren’t upgrading controls, just the HMIs to look newer to building owners

SpotGideon @shepf.art · 10h

been struggling with supply chain issues as a small manufacturer of controls equipment for some time, but we’re just A Little Guy™️ with relatively low volume Tridium has a HUGE share of the commercial HVAC market though, so for them to change licensing to avoid using SD cards is… not good 😬

CHALLENGE

Due to ongoing supply chain challenges, the cost of SD cards has increased significantly. In addition, SD card availability has become increasingly constrained.

WHAT IS CHANGING

In response, Tridium has decided to modify the JACE 9000 licensing model so that an SD card is no longer required for licensing or operation. The JACE 9000 already has the ability to generate an internal Host ID, which provides the foundation for this change.

Amtrak Cascades @amtrakcascades.wsdot.wa.gov · 12h

Today's the day! Jump on Trains 503, 508, 516 and 519 to enjoy the new Amtrak Cascades trains. Super comfy seats. Tray tables in Triplicate - not even kidding! Adjustable cupholders. There is nothing like that new train smell.💚🤎🤍

A shiny new green, mocha and cream-colored train sits at a station on a sunny day.

A pair of comfy business class seats are on either side of a narrow table aboard a new Amtrak Cascades Train.

The interior of the cafe onboard the new Amtrak Cascade trains. Self-service options are visible, as is staff working behind the counter to provide hot food. The cafe is spacious and accessible.

A look down the aisle of coach class, which includes accessible seating areas for passengers using wheelchairs. The seats are gray and the room around them is spacious.

I've been waiting for paint to arrive for the ongoing projects, so I decided to pop an #hoscale autorack on the bench and have a go at it. Still work in progress, but the graffiti is pretty much done. Weathering next. #modelrailroad #modelrailway #modelrail #hoscale #modeltrains #bsmrguk #trains

I wish there was an N Scale E9 available in the Executive paint scheme, but current options are an SD70MAC from Kato (though Rapido is coming out with their new SD70MAC models next year as well, in this scheme as well)

130

kinda has me wanting to comb through the dealer listings at the back of Railroad Model Craftsman and make some calls/emails in the future

120

right??? no idea how it never sold??? had to confirm like 3 times it was what he said it was and was like "please tell me you can take a card over the phone and ship it to me" 😆

120

dude was like "ah no, but you're interested in old N Scale releases? I got this Burlington Northern Executive car set that's been collecting dust for years" and I was like OMG YESSSSSS

1120

learned that it pays to pick up the phone and call a model railroad store, even if they don't have a website to order from! was looking for some older Centralia Car Shops cars, which they didn't have, but they DID HAVE an old Rapido BN Executive 4-car set from 2015 which was limited to 100 units

3370

True! I'm DCC-all-the-way these days. I started with DC in N Scale buuuuut all my HO scale stuff is/was DCC and I started to miss the extra features/benefits it offered

The Kato ALC-42s are cheap, the Bachmanns not so much, but I've got a Bachmann SC-44 and it's SO GOOD, it'd be hard to resist going with them again for one! bsky.app/profile/shep...

Printing is so CRISPY on 'em! Now I just need an ALC-42 and/or P-42 to go with 'em in Phase VII!

It’s a little thing, but I do love that Kato includes a visual guide to build prototypical consists with their sets

0110

New train Tuesday! 🚂 My preordered 4 car set of Kato N Scale Amfleet Is in Phase VII paint arrived today, and they look goooood.

Tweed is such a beautiful fabric to wear this time of year because it produces, in Dolly Parton's phrasing, a coat of many colors. Even a solid-colored brown is not just brown, but bits of red, blue, and yellow to produce something that looks lifted off the Scottish landscape.

There are two photos taped together. The top shows a brown stone building with a brown thatched roof. It's surrounded by green grass, stone walkways, and blue-gray sea. Below is a checked brown tweed that reflects the colors in the landscape above it.

There are two photos taped together. The one at te top shows a rocky hillside with green and straw-colored grass, gray rocks, and a tan sandy beach below. The blue waters are crashing at the shore. Below is a green herringbone tweed that reflects the colors in the landscape above it.

About to get thrown out of here for obvious reasons

huh, apparently Loomis had been using EV armored trucks for a few years, but never seen one until just now, seems like a great use case (short distance, lots of idling and already heavy as hell, lol)

it's got 1 1/2" of additional fabric tucked in each sleeve, so I think I should be good to have the sleeves taken out a bit (and hopefully take out the rear of the jacket too as while I am a 38 chest, this is a TIGHT 38 and could do with another 1/2" of wiggle room)

Me too and glad you think so! I liked how they looked together, but wasn't quite sure if instead I should find a solid color pair of slacks to wear with this jacket 🐶💭

~L O U N G E C O R E ~ (this 38S jacket is a weeee too short in the sleeves, but for $30 it was worth picking up to see if my tailor can’t make it work for me)
