Strolling to post a parcel, I noticed orange hawkweed strewn among a grassy patch on the side of the road. Vibrant, full of life - waving me on my way. Orange is often associated with autumn, but I think it holds its own in any season 🌼🍁 #BloomScrolling #WildflowerHour #BritishWildflowers
Small, vibrant flowers - visually similar to daisies, but bright orange - burst into the bottom left corner of the frame. Long overgrown grass, a lush green, fills the rest of the frame

Death Valley (June 2026). The narrator is likely incredibly relatable — or incredibly unrelatable. For me, it’s the former, & made me love her all the more. Loved the writing too. For anyone who wonders if they have the will: you can make it. #BookSky #AmReading

Colonialism and exploitation, power and resistance, complicity and moral ambiguity, love, family and loss, environmental injustice... The whole book is beautiful, thought-provoking and really stays with you. I copied down so many lines: I come back to this one more and more. #BookSky #AmReading
The quote “We’ll forge forward believing, because there’s no other way to live.” from the book How Beautiful We Were, by Imbolo Mbue, sits on a deep geeen background, with red, orange and sage green leaves scattered in the bottom left corner. A salmon pink smudge with small seeds appears in the top right corner.

I am a cat (May 26). Published in 1905, it helped popularise cats as literary observers and narrators in Japanese culture - it was great to read after so many contemporary ones & I can see the ground work laid. The only real (small) tell tale is the slightly formal writing style. #BookSky #AmReading

As we hit autumn* in the UK, I think mushrooms count as #BloomScrolling 🍄 So, here’s a shaggy bracket on a tree in Wales. They look so soft and plumptious, and would definitely make a lovely resting place for a fairy or winged beastie 🧚 *not today. Today it’s baking. #WildFlowerHour

The Art of Extreme Self Care (Mar 26). Blended coaching-advice approach with some good ideas (& some gendered expectations that did not resonate). Read thru then revisit, doing one thing per month. I haven't... but I did a few things that stood out immediately. So that's a win! #BookSky #AmReading

The Book of Goose (Mar 26). Stifled creativity & the type of intelligence most people simply don’t understand. I felt that shriek in my soul. Feelings we let fade because the world demands it, not because we want to let go. I love character driven fiction & this is perfect. #BookSky #AmReading

My Year of Rest and Relaxation (Feb 26). Enjoyed the last 20 pages. Final event was very predictable, so I was glad when it hit. Reflection came later. More than privilege & pain, to me, it was a coming of age story. Never having the same experience twice, and learning what's good for you #BookSky

Gobbolino the Witch's Cat (Jan 26). Children's books are often a brilliant palate cleanser. Enjoyed this foray into finding where you belong, having a big heart, & going on an adventure. Ursula Moray Williams, author of over 70 kids' books, wrote this in 1942 - it could almost be 2022! #BookSky
