More GPs, more affordable doctor visits and more screening would do more to improve our hospitals and general populations health than the blue-red he-said-she-said bickering

After 3 months of primarily using my Aventon Abound cargo Ebike as my main transport (only using the car for long trips and local trips for the whole family as wife doesn't fit in the back with the kids 🤣) has been amazing..but now when I drive the Territory it feels wrong and foreign.

Being a parent of young children really messes up your interactions with 'normal adults'.... I just used the term 'tippy toes' in a workplace setting 🤦‍♂️😅

Switched to a new phone and somehow my authentication code for Instagram doesn't work and it won't let me access it. Thanks Meta for making it easier to quit your nasty services 🤣 I also only access Facebook by website and damn my phone is peaceful now... So much less brain rot, spam and hate

If you're wondering why the media will give Farrar, Williams a good old run at denying everything without being specific or proving anything, it's because Hager criticises the media for their uncritical platforming of both of them and calls them lazy which is 100% correct.
Hager also criticised the media's role, suggesting it contributed to poor transparency.

"Despite all their undeclared political machinations, both Farrar and Williams are often interviewed uncritically in the mainstream media - far more often than most genuinely independent experts and commentators.

"At the time of writing, for instance, Radio New Zealand had interviewed Farrar about 600 times since 2007, an astonishing amount of coverage considering that he is one of the least independent people available. He is often introduced with labels such as 'polling company maestro', while Williams is given labels such as 'anti-waste campaigner'. It is lazy journalism."

While setting up my new phone I removed all Google and meta apps, and boy was it peaceful 😍 Opened up Facebook in the browser for something and immediately felt like deleting my entire account, the shitty content and crappy people ruined my morning. Sadly had to install WhatsApp for work

This is the problem when not enough people understand how central and local governments work and take what politicians and opinions on Facebook as gospel... Stupid shit happens and everyone suddenly acts shocked. Just more reasons why civics NEEDS to be taught to everyone

While the wife had the kids and the car on Sunday I tested the capability of my bike by visiting Mitre10 and hauling home compost, mulch, garden fork and a bunch of smaller items. Ended up swapping the front basket for the green container and it handled pretty well, surviving the hills of the Shore

Are right wing voters ready to talk about how their favourite politicians have spent years spooking them about immigrants taking their jobs but are now telling them to embrace Ai taking their jobs instead? It was never about the jobs and always about using racism to serving the rich. Awake yet?

The biggest regret about getting a cargo e-bike is that I didn't do it years ago. Love it as our 'second car', it smashes the work commute and the girls love riding in the back... And way quicker than driving to local shops and cafes

A reminder when it comes to parking 👇
Japan off street parking that of course has a vending machineOn street parking is a massive no in Japan in most circumstancesIt's not my duty as Mayor to make sure you have a parking spot. It's the same as if you bought a cow or refrigerator and then asked me where you're going to put themIn Japan you cannot own a car unless you can prove you can store it off street. Parking on street is just a no

Mamdani: I cannot help but think of the words of our 40th president, Ronald Reagan. He famously said, “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are 'I'm from the govt & I'm here to help'" I think nine more terrifying words are actually, "I worked all day and can't feed my family"

"There are never any bikes on the bike paths!" Yeah, well I spotted a double decker on my way to work.
Waiting at the lights at the Karangahape Road end of the new Great North Road cycle lanes. I’m on my e-bike (that’s my face reflected in my wing mirror), and beside me is another guy on an acoustic bike… carrying a bike-box on his back. No biggie. Space shuttle being transported on the back of a 747, over mountains.

Mr “I made my first million by 26” thinks working people take 10 weeks holiday. What a cunt I liked my media being a little more critical & 4th estate like.
A post on LinkedIn by business adviser Toss Grumley went viral in the past week, as Grumley wrote that he was "baffled every year by New Zealand's intense Christmas shut down".

"In what world as an economy and country are we operating in an environment where no business discussion can happen for a period of ten weeks," he asked. His question sparked debates on news and social media sites

Getting tired of seeing all these articles online about shortening the summer holiday to make New Zealand 'more productive'.... Sure offices and factories are a bit quieter during January, but it's essential for the productivity and economy of our hospitality, events and tourism regions.

Love how National proudly opposed the Treaty Principles Bill, and wore it like a badge of honour. Then basically rolled it out anyways. They’re dismantling and removing anything that honours the treaty, and undermining Māori. Without consultation too like yesterday. Depressing.

So the Prime Ministers new attack on teachers is their 12 weeks of school holidays which we all know many teachers work through. Regardless. NZ Parliament has 20+ weeks of recess each year including a far longer summer break than most professions including teaching!!!
